I'm thankful that...

... we don't have Thanksgiving here in NZ:)

But it does mean that we have to remember to be thankful for what we have. In 2008, I'm thankful for:

* $10 CDs! I know these pretty much illustrate the death of the music industry, but for an old baby-boomer like me, being able to get some real classic music CDs for $10 means that I can finally have the music collection I always wanted.

* Radio Hauraki! When Solid Gold went from Baby Boomer to Grandpa Radio this year, I was distraught, but then Radio Hauraki came to Christchurch, and us old rockers are back!

Whataya thankful for?

Probably the recent drop in oil prices is the biggy for me, means I can spend more time in the air smile.gif

I'm thankful for home cooked meals- after living off pot noodles and chocolate biscuits for half a year, having proper food served on a plate each night is a treat in itself! laugh.gif

I'm generally pretty thankful, and when I'm not - I get told to be! smile.gif

I'm thankful that we don't have any water restrictions or the like. Just thought of that when I was running the tap before washing out some ice cream containers. rolleyes.gif

Now I've got no option but to post one of my all time favorite Monty Python sketches:

wow another monty python fan biggrin.gif

"Just another wafer thin mint sir" , Monty Python sketch, 'Mr Creosote'

im thankfull they decided to play the millenium special edition of Black Adder on New Years Eve, (technically new years day, 12.30) brilliant episode, for all adder fans tongue.gif

oh and that i feel really sorry, **cough cough** for all the poor buggas who went down to the mount for Fireworks on NYE.
at my house i got 3 sided fireworks, katikati, Omokoroa, and the mount {only went for 4mins tops}, and the Omokoroa displays were the best of all (im talking about proper council displays. we got hundreds of areas round us that did it, cos of the ready availability of explosives out here in the rurals)

Seeing as this thread is steadily heading way off topic, I'm going to throw in another Monty vid, the Sir Edward Ross sketch. Just brilliant:

I think those poor buggas you're referring to weren't really there for just the fireworks winkyy.gif

ah yes, the unfortunate people im talking about are those that went down to the harbour bridge, or 'sulfur point'.... long trip just too see 4 mins of works, they go there to prevent getting caught up in the mount 'antics'
