OK - I'll bite ... can I repost the msg lost in the "other" discussion?

Do we have (anywhere on this forum) a full list of all the major carriers in NZ (and their aircraft) - with links to both payware and freeware models+repaints - for both FS9 and FSX? Has someone done this anywhere else?
I'm thinking of creating a page somewhere (that I can update) with all the fleets in some kind of a tabular format. Must have been done by someone, Shirley?

I was thinking of databasing it, so we could easily pull out different views/listings - according to aircraft type, airline, payware/freeware, FS9/FSX etc. Each entry could have information and links to associated files. Has it been done?

A starting point could be my list here

Thanks - good thread!!! Great to have so much info in one place. As you're the "custodian" of that thread <??> ... do you think databasing it would be a good idea? I could always lash up an admin back-end to allow people like yourself (ie. who know more than me about this sort of thing!) access - to add/edit/remove entries.

You can be as blunt as you like (honest!) - I'd rather be told "don't bother - what we have is quite adequate" than find it not being used by people after I've put a load of work in. If you think it's a GO-er, then I'd imagine a new thread would help ... for feature suggestions, feedback etc. Databasing sites (sadly) is what I seem to do a fair bit of ... and it'd be quite a fun little project for me to do.

Yeah fire ahead! - it would probably be easier to add/edit and delete. Perhaps we could both administer it - I keep doing FS9 and you do FSX?

I don't have FSX so I haven't really kept up to speed on FSX repaints.

I haven't done any freeware aiarcaft either as FS9 has a huge amount of NZ freeware reapaints. I didn't have time to add all of them.

Cheers

Paul

Edit - better start a new thread too (or add it to my repaint thread) as we are getting slightly off topic

Maybe we could have hyperlinks to the repaints/plane and so on.

Yep ... that's the idea. We could have thumbnail uploads, reviews ... you name it!!

Thanks for the go-ahead ... I'll get cracking! Any ideas for a name for the "site"? Then we can start a thread under that name. My hope is to include all NZ aircraft/repaints - so it won't be exclusively Air New Zealand. Can't call it "New Zealand Full Fleet" as that would spell NZFF laugh.gif

I'm temporarily calling it "NZ-Air" ... but it's not very inspiring (or descriptive)!

How about......

'all the repaints and airplanes and helicopters and flying stuff that fly's in New Zealand skies for flight simulator X database'

It's very descriptive and I think it has a nice ring to it.

Recommendations and links to decent/add-on sound packs for each aircraft would also be great.

I'm trying to restrict the information to NZ specific stuff only - otherwise it'll be a devil to maintain. There are enough repaints as it is (I didn't realise there was so much actually out there!).

Sound files won't be specific to NZ (nor will panels, I suppose). I think people after sounds, panels, scenery will try the usual places.
