RealNZ Across the Strait WLG issue

The official REAL NZ support forum

Postby BigBird » Fri Nov 14, 2008 2:58 pm

Have been browsing this area of the forum looking for threads from anyone who has had a similar issue, but I'm not having any luck finding anything.

I am running RealNZ Across the Strait on FSX. When visiting Wellington all the aircraft seem to be sitting randomly all over the tarmac. They're not anywhere near the gates. I am also using World of AI. Is this an AFCAD issue? Anyone know how I can fix it?

Yes, you'd need to remove the WOAI AFCAD for NZWN.
I really have to stop talking in abbreviations...

I don't know where WOAI stores AFCADS, probably Addon Scenery\Scenery?

I know that MyTrafficX also installed a NZWN AFCAD.

Thanks Toprob, I'll have a look and see if I can find it this weekend.

Do you find anything if you search for 'NZWN' within the FSX folder system?

No, not having any luck at all. It's quite confusing.

Do you have XP or Vista?

I'm running Vista. Do you reckon that could be the cause of the problem?

No, I just wanted to know so that we could figure out how to search for the file. I don't use Vista, so I can't really give you the best way, but maybe someone could. When you search your FSX installation for 'NZWN' you should at least find the two files which come with the Real NZ scenery -- one is called 'Wellington Intl NZWN.bgl' and is in the RealNZwgtn\Scenery folder, and the other is called 'NZWNmin.bgl', and is in the Scenery\World\Scenery folder.

It is highly likely that any errant AFCAD file would have 'NZWN' in the filename, so a search for this would seem to be the logical step. However as I said, someone with Vista experience may have to let us know how to search effectively.

Thanks Toprob, I'll do a manual search inside those folders tonight and see if I can find anything.

They are an integral part of the Real NZ Wellington install. You may have to reinstall it, as it sounds like you don't have a proper installation.

Okay, I'll have to try and remember what I did with the files... Fingers crossed I made a back up!
