Three SE.5a fighters on Armistice Day

Here are a few shots I took yesterday.
All three aircraft are now flying actively and were due to fly to Wellington for the 90th Anniversary Armistice Day fly-past and they tried but the weather deteriorated so the aircraft turned back and over flew the Masterton war memorial.
Had a few minutes to capture the moment with a few air 2 air photos as we were sharing time with Television NZ.
The air 2 airs will have to wait for another time but I have included a solo shot here.

These three aircraft are just stunning and will add something very special to the Airshow scene here in little old New Zealand.

It was great to fly alongside these aircraft on the 90th Anniversary and just before we headed home Gene De Marco took me for a quick spin in the original Bristol Fighter pictured below, and that just blew my mind flying in an original.

Awesome, they look fantastic! - my favourite WW1 aircraft - the best collection of WW1 aircraft anywhere must reside in NZ - you lucky b...er getting a flight in a Bristol Fighter.

Now thats what you call a Gun Camera , now were is Peter , put his talents and bring these together for a good historical Great War air combat movie

Getting a flight in the Bristol Fighter must have been an amazing experience, I'm jealous!

About 7 years ago the Discovery TV crew filmed quite a few hours of the Camel and Fokker D1 Triplane doing aerial combat over Omaka I don't know what became of it as I haven't seen the the movie they made.
The Camel was flown by Gene De Marco and John Lennon was flying the Fokker.

I think I saw that awhile ago on Disovery Channel. I think they were comparing the two or something like that.

I remember seeing and hearing that flight.
The Camel was so high you could hardly see it but boy you could hear it.
I flew alongside it recently and what a great sound!!!
The Camel was flown by Gene De Marco and the Triplane by Stuart Tantrum.
Some of that footage can be seen on the program called the worlds top 10 fighters, or something similar, its on Dicscovery from time to time.
