Anyone using this Card.? I need some help with settings to eliminate shimmering.

Did you ever manage to get antialiasing working? There are two ways to do this, either from within the sim options, or via the graphics Display Properties. (These are accessed via the Control Panel.)
However I never managed to get this working in FSX (it worked great in FS2004), using either method, until I used nHancer. So I'd try, in this order:

Turn on antialiasing within the sim;
Turn on antialiasing thrugh the Display Properties;
Install nHancer, and turn it on that way.

Yes. I was able to alter the antialiasing settings through the Graphics card panel. I have tried several settings but have made no progress.
I want to get FS9 going properly because I like to do my flying around NZ but if all else fails I will probably install FSX and try my luck there.

Do you think this could be a faulty FS9 installation or possibly a driver problem.? Appreciate your thoughts.

Faulty FS9 installation -- probably not (never happened to me, and about 90% of reported faulty installations are normally something different:) Driver problem -- maybe, with modern cards you really need to match the drivers to the card. Maybe someone else can help with good drivers for this card.
By the way, you are using full-screen, aren't you? You might not be able to get AA working in windowed mode.

I think it would definitely help to install nHancer, don't worry about the complicated settings, just turn anti-aliasing on at a low setting and see if it helps. You can always try higher settings once you get it working.

What OS are you using? If it's vista try the following

-Right click on the fs9 shorcut
-go properties
-go to the compatiblity tab
-check the option "Disable Desktop Composition" - this option turns off all fancy aero stuff
-hit okay and ur done

this function has a major effect on 3D programs (GMax viewports go white etc) so it may improve things for you.

Unfortunately I am using XP Home but thanks for the hint I will keep it in mind if I ever get Vista. Cheers.

Yes, I am using full-screen. I appreciate your comments about the drivers and it would be good if I could get good drivers for this card but that is the problem.
I will probably try the latest driver and hope for the best. Will give nHancer a go at some stage.

Pato, generally the latest drivers will be the best, but if you still have no joy try XTreme-G 163.76 XP from www.Tweakforce.com, if that don't suit your system just roll back the driver, they have many more goodies to try. Im pretty sure your'll find a good one.

Many thanks for your suggestions. I will have a look at that site for drivers. It appears that some experimenting is needed to get a suitable driver for a particular setup.
