Majestic Q300 pilot edition

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Postby bennz » Tue Sep 23, 2008 9:29 am

Hi everyone,

I have few questions about Majestic Q300 pilot edition:

1- I couldn't find the APU panel in OHC ?! Anyone knows where is it ? You can see it in PSS Q300 ( I guess the one in PSS is different varient of Q300 ? I am not sure so please advise )
2- How can I have wing view ? I have installed it with wing view option.
3- I have noticed after take off plane gains altitude very rapidly , mostly unrealistic for Q300 . Does anyone know how to fix it ?
4- When I have the external view for the aircraft Engines sound dont change ( keeps as the cockpit sound mode ) . Is it normal or there is problem there?

That model costs me a lot of money but I am not satisfied with it as much as I liked PSS Q300. The panel is not good at all and the warning lights panel is very hard to read even in the highest resolution possible. Model is very shiny , specially the tyres, they look like solid plastic than real aeroplane tyres.

The only reason I purchased it was the failure options and usability of most aircraft settings and configuration in cockpit.

Comment and help is welcome smile.gif

Thanks

Ok, well to start with it doesn't have an APU panel. You might be able to get a addon from avsim (if there is one)
You can have wing views by going in the virtual cockpit mode and using a freeware tool like Flight 1 View. Check on the F1 website.
You then can scroll down the plane until behind the wings using your mouse.
The reason it is climbing so quickly is it is probably trimmed incorrectly. To fix this, trim the aircraft so it will climb to your satisfaction.
The Majestic Dash 8 uses a great panel off a freeware aircraft. It also uses the same sounds.

BTW here are some settings that you might find useful for flying the Q300.

1200 prop rpm for T/O
1050 prop rpm for the climb
900 prop rpm for the cruise

Thanks a lot Daniel for your help .

Majestic uses a "freeware"package for panel and sound !?! ( Are they even allowed to do that and sell it as part of their product ? ).
Not putting APU panel is stupid when people are purchasing a "pilot version" of an aircraft !
I guess I use the trim properly asI have the same settings in PSS Q300 and it works perfectly.

I use 1100 rpm for take off which to have a smooth climb but seems not effective, but I will use the settings you gave me to see how it works smile.gif Is that setting for the plane with full load or not?

Cheers

Yeah they must have paid the guy, http://www.fsfield.com/viewfile/195.html
Here is a thread about the APU here, Q300 APU
The PSS is surpose to have it modelled in to it but I think they went under???
I have found th trim a bit tricky on the Majestic Q300. For the prop rpms, that is what Air Nelson use regardless of weights. You normally adjust the torque for how full it is and the temperature outside.

I didn't think that Dash-8's had an APU (Air NZ uses GPU's)

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

Yes Q300 has APU. It might come in two models as with APU and without, I am not sure if ANZ has both models ?! I was on one of them to north from Wellington and noticed the exhaust for APU. Can't remember the registeration unfortunately.

I have noticed the model from Majestic is different from PSS , You can see the APU exhaust in the Right Rear of the PSS model ( Correct me if I am wrong ) but there is nothing in Majestic model.

If only PSS had full functional panel , plus failure controls I would never get Majestic!

Yeah, I am pretty sure all of them have an APU. Here is a pic showing where the controls are. It is just above the engine start switches. The top left button is to for APU power which lights up the buttons. Then there is a start button on it and Bleed air, Electrics etc

Yep that is the PSS Q300 Panel. See how clear is the panel ! The Majestic panel is cr@p.

Do you guys know that is there any version of PSS Q300 that has full functional panel ?

I think all of Air NZ's Q300s have APUs (I remember reading about it in Pacific Wings once I think), whether they use them or not is a different story though.

Air Nelson Q3oo's all fitted with APU, they use it to keep aircraft warm/cool depending on weather as well as to supply additional power. NZTG use GPU as airline require it when possible - but frequently in winter APU also used. smile.gif

Yep they've used it when I've done Air Nelson jumpseats. They just push a button and it goes on from memory, easy peasy.
