Just came back from a little trip to MEL/SYD, thought id post a couple of pics as I usually do. Couple..well I guess it depends on your interpretation tongue.gif

Our flight, Qantas QF609 was scheduled to depart BNE for Melbourne at 6:50, so we Arrived at Brisbane Domestic at about 5:50am. The previous day, I had selected seats online for the Boeing 737-800 we were supposed to be flying. Row 20, K.

On Arrival at the airport, you now cannot check in manually with a staff member on Qantas, you have to use there little auto machine. Its quite good though, scan your eticket and away you go. Then, if you have bags just drop them off. As we did, we lined up, but due to a pretty big line a few moments later all those remaining QF609 passengers were called through.

At the Gate, I wandered over to 17 to check out the Rego of our 73H. Unfortunently, our flight had been changed to an older 737-400 machine. I was slightly displeased but flying none the less. VH-TGT..

Waiting to Board

On Board, we taxyed out to Runway 19 and without delay lifted of to Melbourne. The captain said there were very high headwinds above FL300, so we stayed below that altitude for the duration of the flight, obtaining some nice views.

About 40 minutes after departure, Breakfast was served, which consisted of a basic meal with some Cereal, Juice, Fruit and a Roll.

As the captain announced on the PA, we started decent into YMML into runway 34, which was good as I could get a good view of the city on Finals.

We Landed on 34 and taxyed in to a reasonably quiet MEL and walked out of the terminal.

More Later, Stay Tuned!

Yeah, thanks for sharing! Did you scotch tape yourself to the outside of the plane? Those photos are pretty clear!

Nice shots mate thumbup1.gif
Shame about getting put on the 734 instead. Not quite as nice and there cabins are rather dated in some cases.

Nice report man

I had a similar experience with Jetstar going SYD-OOL where the plane we were meant to go on wasn't actually ready so they had this older aircraft with old livery and all sorts of problems, no food or drinks to buy, auxillary engine wasn't working so no Air conditioning until the planes engines started etc, seats were pretty rubbish - was a shocking first jetstar experience.

The buggers did that to me last Tuesday too. I had booked business class Sydney to Melbourne on a 767 300 (made sure) and after a 2 hour departure delay it was changed to a 737 800. Still got to sit in the buisness lounge for that time though tongue.gif

Dust spots are the biggest A^& H(*& of a problem with an SLR.
To check for dust spots put your camera on Apeture setting wind it out to F22 take it outside, point it up into the sky and fire a couple of rounds off.
You will see them all that way.

I have 40D cameras with auto sensor cleaning and boy it works well and saves me many headaches but if you need to clean it manually I can give you much advice as I wasnt very successful.

It is a bit of a problem Gavin. Im gonna try using the dust reduction on the camera a couple times, then if nothing Ill get it professionally cleaned, I cant be bothered trying myself and stuffing it up.

Not the Jetconnect ones in NZ..

Sweet pics, I'll do a little trip report when we go to Fiji early next month. 6 flights, 5 aircraft types:
737-400
737-700
DHC-6-300
BN Islander
747-400

It's gonna be fun!
