Interesting list - do these have FSX-only features or are they essentially FS9-type addons compatible with FSX?

Good question

The Abacus one are basicly just FS9 Aircraft apart from new view points

Surprisingly The Wilco ones are almost the same I actually had to add Exit door points to the 777

none for me, anyone know how well these addons woudl be selling? With the majority of ppl haveing perforamce issues adding some payware stuff would be a bit out of the question, and most ppl are proably still exploring the defualt addons...

I see you have the wilco 777 and the 1st airbus series, what are they like? the look absoulty astonishing :P

The Airbus looks great (for FS I mean after all it is a Bus in the Air) but the panel is VERY fps hitting I can go down from 22fps to 5fps easily.

The 777 is not to bad on the FPS but I wish the model was a bit better (e.g. RR, PW Engines over just the GE 90, and the model needs to look a bit more 777ish if you know what I mean) Oh and the ANZ texture has a really dark shadow on the nose

Horizon 1-metre res VFR scenery for England & Wales (you can argue whether that's one product or three, since it comes in 3 parts), and the Superb RealAir SF260 Marchetti. And of course, looking forward to Robin's Marlborough....

None, I won't say what I've said in many other threads biggrin.gif

I think the reason there aren't many payware airliners out specifically for FSX is because most people have performance issues with bigger aircraft and airports.
As Alister stated before, FSX is the best GA Flightsim out of the two, and FS9 is better for airliners.

Not really true anymore with the new acceleration and sp1 sp2 update i fly alsorts and they are all even in flp rates mostly ,one thing i will tell you is fs9 aircraft in X are the heavy flp hitters because of textures ,some have been ok to port over but most knock three flps off if not more ..

well i have got the following.
Digital Aviation Fokker 70/100, 2d only cockpit at present, getting 40-50fps
Level-d 767 getting 20-30fps
Carando Piper 180 & Cessna stationair getting 40-50fps
Lionheart Super viking, getting 40-50fps
i was using the wilco airbuses v1 and 2, but was getting really strange issues (engine 4 was sitting below the wings in flight for example) and other issues only getting 10-15fps, so off they went it seems like they were still the fs9 versions
Wilco E-jets, getting 20-40 fps
PMDG 1900c&d some funky vc textures and props, but again getting a good 20-50fps

as you can see i have quite some variety with what i fly, and i still get good frame rates all round, i can even fly the gamin equiped glass cockpit defaults at 20fps which did suprise me.

i think that there has not been a huge release in airliners for fsx as develpoers have had to start from scratch, also i feel that some FS9 products are labeled as fsx exclusive and are not hecne some issues

all i wish is that more people would take up the challenge of fsx, as alot of aircaft out there have been lost to fsx, which is a shame

In the ongoing battle between objects made of aluminum going hundreds of miles per hour and the ground going zero miles per hour, the ground has yet to lose.

Whats your PC specs Jase?

I agree the true FSX airliners have yet to be released as they take time to develop.

AMD Phenom 9850 2.5 quad core
Gigabyte MA790FX-DQ6
4gig OCZ 1066 ram
500gb SATA HD
1gb 9600gt video card

i think that people who do not evolve to FSX products (developers freeware or payware) are going to get left behind when fsXI is produced, and i think that we as consumers will be waiting longer for add-ons to be developed from scratch.

just my humble opinion

I think that even without the 2-year false start, we would not see the same breadth of offerings as for FS9, simply because of the additional complexity and time in makng decent FSX models.
I was deeply impressed with Dino Cattaneo's freeware Goshawk but these do not grow on trees.

Could not agree more. True FSX aircraft are not FPS killers, buth the ones simply ported over to FSX are.
