Really want to learn **NEWBIE REPAINTER**

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Postby MentorMan » Tue Sep 02, 2008 8:37 am

Hi everyone,

I would really like to learn how to repaint aircraft in FSX. I own photoshop CS3 and 7.0.

I will appreciate it if any repainters here could answer my Qs!

1. Is there a detailed tutorial out there about how to repaint aircraft with PS?
2. Could someone link me to both a paint kit for the default 747 and A321 from FSX?

I'd like to learn some tips such as shine and dirt which can be used as part of the repaint.

Thanks for your help,

Mike

Probably the best place (in the world even!) to ask is over at the ARNZX Forums- If you havent already, check out the repaints from the team there....very high quality and I'm sure they would be happy to answer specific questions you may have

Try this tutorial. It is very good and based on PS CS2, so you have the right tools...

Enjoy your artistry...

Thanks for that link kiwiwanabe.
That tutorial seems quite easy to follow, and this weekend I may look at repainting an aircraft or two just to see if I can do it.
BTW MentorMan, POSKY's aircraft have paintkits available. If you get into painting, be sure to post your results up for us to see smile.gif.

More than welcome Anthony. IMO it's very good for the beginner (like me). Once you fee comfortable with the process, go have a look at the site Dan posted above. There are some really great techniques outlined there...

Have fun...

On the subject of repainting tutorials, does anyone have a tutorial for PaintShop Pro? cool.gif

*EDIT* Don't worry if've found one...

This one is not as good as the others, but it does use PaintShop Pro.
