Bush Flying Aircraft

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Postby PiperDriver » Thu Aug 28, 2008 2:40 pm

Hi

Im looking for some more bush flying aircraft for my bush flights around NZ. Some more singles would be fine and some twins.

However they must be freeware (the girlfriend has taken my wallet....) and have a VC.

Twins - I would take one of Milton Shupes Aero Commanders (there are many versions - some very beaten up like a bush plane should) or the very nice Beech 18 (payware quality) - do a search on Avsim for Milton Shupe. The library seems to be down at the mo.

Singles - the best freeware bush single by far is the Maule - search Maule at FSnordic. See here

There's a Yak-12 over on Flightsim.com that is a lot of fun, has a good VC.

Yep, that Yak is fantastic. It's a full aircraft, so has sounds, panels etc. Just remember to be nice to it, and it'll be nice to you (first time I flied it, I cooked the engine hahaha)

Yeah you have to keep an eye on the engine - it will fail if you abuse it!

If you want to get your feet wet, there's Joe Binka's Gruman Widgeon (VC available only in the radial version, sorry) that really does fly by the numbers. There's even a repaint of this in Amphibian Airways (Invercargill) Livery. And, of course, Bill Lyon's Grumman Goose received an NZ livery, too.

Just search Bill Lyons on Avsim or Flightsim if your Avsim Library is broken - or google it and it might bring up another site whre its available.

Heres a thread on a great looking payware bush aircraft about to be released by Aerosoft for FSX.
