Matrox TripleHead2Go

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

Postby dbcunnz » Sun Aug 03, 2008 2:23 pm

I just bought the Matrox TripleHead2Go and have installed everything following all the instructions but have not been able to set it up in the dual mode. I have been through the troubleshoot and on the Matrox website and done all the configurations that they recommend but I am still getting the number one monitor turning on and giving me a picture but the number two monitor keeps giving me the no signal and not turning on from the standby when booting up both monitors are working ok when not connected through the Matrox box.
Maybe I have got a faulty Matrox box. Any one got anu suggestions that might help?

so its suppose to look like this image

and does this

and also says it really does this
QUOTE
The "magic" of making one display into three happens inside the TripleHead2Go box. The TripleHead2Go takes advantage of the existing graphics processor unit (GPU) within your computer.

* Your system GPU renders an ultra-wide image into its frame buffer.
* TripleHead2Go uses Matrox patent-pending technology to divide the display information into three display outputs.
* These signals are then passed through the three monitor connectors (either standard digital (DVI) or analog (VGA), depending on the version of the product) and to the TripleHead2Go box.
* No pixels are added, dropped, scaled, or otherwise changed in this process. TripleHead2Go "magic" preserves all the on-screen information provided by the original monitor signal.[/quote]
i dont get what you are trying to do with just two screens when normally graphic card support two these days anyway ,there is also a vga Y adapter that can widen the screen and you going to be adding another vga to the mtxbox at some stage ?

Perhaps it does not support only having 2 monitors attached??

The one monitor that is working... is it showing the entire desktop? or is it showing only a portion of the picture?

Are your display properties configured as per the first pic posted by Mike above?? ie. 1 monitor at 3840x1024?

What sort of video card do you have? Perhaps it is unable to render such a large screen res as 3840x1024?

Another thing ,are the vga s the same size ? ie 1280x1024 plus 1280x1024, it mite not support different vga sizes they mite have to be the same size so it can expand over the screens even ? this kinda makes sence i think

I have got it up and running the problem seemed to be in the DVI in connection to the Matrox box it is the digital triplehead2go but it works ok using the VGA in connector on the box. The reason I am using it in the dual mode is that the PCI-E Graphics card i am using will run FSX fine but does not support either FS9 or FSX in the triple mode. I will have to upgrade my Graphics card before I can use 3 monitors in the triple mode. Monitors don't seem to make much difference as I have had it connected to a 26 inch TV through the DVI connector plus a 19 inch Dell and a 17 inch Asus.
In the triple mode configured Asus 17 inch Phillips 26 inch TV 19 inch Dell it spreads across all 3 monitors and in the dual mode I run the 26inch TV as monitor 1 and the 19 inch Dell as the second monitor.
In the dual mode it handles FSX with all Robins Real NZ scenery fine. I will upgrade as the finances allow first ill probably be a 9800GTX then I will start thinking about upgrading monitors to get 3 off the same probably 3 20 inch wide screen.

I am using a Radeon X850-e with 256MB ram. the Marox software set up to the duel mode.
When I try FSX in the triple mode it tells me to upgrade the Graphics card as in the triple mode it doesn't support the shading or something like that

The TH2GO units are really good biggrin.gif
The compatibility with nVIDIA cards is almost perfect really, but with ATI its not very good, as you're finding out the hard way sad.gif

I've got one myself, I use a nVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT which runs really well with FS9.

Use the compatibility wizard here to sort out what resolutions and sizes you should be getting with your graphics card.

The full graphics card compatibility list is here, with the resolutions and sizes.

If the wizard doesn't work for you, download the compatibility tool here

If you were having software issues, I strongly recommend you download the up to date drivers and software from here (Matrox website).

Hope that helps,
