I should really have just deleted this post as part of my normal forum maintenance, (it is an advertisement for non-NZ payware scenery, which is a major breach of etiquette) but it did get me thinking. Here's a guy with a particular interest (lighthouses) so he's done the required work to model them for FS, and hopefully makes a few bucks as a result.
With all the talk about a NZ-wide scenery project, this just shows how simple it is to pick one area which interests you and just get stuck in. It might take you 3 months to get the hang of it, and you might need to go the freeware route for a while until you get to a professional standard, but this makes a lot more sense than talking endlessly about a huge collaborative project.
And I'm always on the look-out for quality scenery which can be marketed under the Godzone and/or Real NZ labels. Plus I'm always happy to help with help and tutorials if you get stuck.
So, just make a start.
