Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

The C130 , everyone loves it , "David 'DAX' Sweetman" works on them and crews them , he then go,s home and then paints them !
His latest is the LC130 operated by the USAF and the NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION we see in Christchurch NZ every season since 1999
they replace the USN VXE6 Sqaudron , The LC .. their is only a few of these , 40 years flying CHCH skies put them on the top of my list smile.gif

although the paint is not as dynamic as the earlier NAVY scheme they still impressive to see truckin from the ice

Nice shots Ian - I am also a fan of his RNZAF repaints - do those JATO rockets work? I presume they are JATOS on the side of the Herc?

Heavy ladened , they almost fly out out flat , after floating off , clear , very gentle possibly 10 deg , now heading into the new season , be worth finding out flight ops from Christchurch , I think we have a resident USAF chappie who could answer the question , maybe a tour smile.gif

I think they have a retractable gear/ski sytem in them or something.
I think it can lower the ski's or wheels so they son't scrape.

Awesome shots Ian drool.gif
Looks very cool thumbup1.gif

The skis are fully retractable, and the LC130 also has the ability to operate with Jet Assisted Take Off.

Typically the Lockheed C130 Hercules drones slowly past on a Christchurch summer afternoon , it could be a USN LC130 or one of our RNZAF types heading to the Ice , heavy ladened they seem to be of age and another era , get them in the combat guise , low level and an another countries do join in ... Sinapore , these Hercs come in so clean and polished ,

a C130 world tour possible , another brilliant skin / paint by David Sweetman

Great screenies Ian- wish I had a comp capable of running Captain Sim's Herc.

I can vouch for what Alex said about the Singapore C-130 really being that shiny. I think they polished it up especially for the Ohakea show after flying it up from some multi-national training exercise out of Woodbourne last summer. I remember when me and HCP qued up for a look in the cockpit (which incidentally didn't have a modern glass cockpit setup , still the old steam gauges), the line was about treble the length of that shown in that photograph, you must have taken that one right at the beginning of the day!

Also, that is a wicked pic from Afghanistan Bazza. My cousin was based over there with the RAF in Kandar but only has funny stories to share with me rather than any photos- I remember you said you have a source in the military where you get your ones from, so is there any chance you could start up a thread in the RWAP section and post a load of them? I love getting having a peek at what Joe Public's eyes don't usually see!
