Ever since the board moved to a new server I have a problem with my login:

a) My name doesn't get remembered so every time I visit I need to log in again

b) This may be related but is the bigger issue: the way I browse quickly through forums is via the 'view new post' links. Once I'm logged in I only should get the latest posts since my last login. This doesn't seem to work anymore, I get posts that I read already.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Only thing I can suggest is to delete the NZFF cookie (although I'm not sure where it resides - so not sure what it looks like...) and let a new one take hold - there were a couple of problems early on with the cookies but it should be working fine now.

This will probably link in with the cookie issue - if the board can't remember if you've been through, it can't figure out if you have read a post or not.

Deleting cookies doesn't work for me, it still happens.

Could it be something in my profile settings? I've already looked through there and don't see anything, but I could be going blind

Deleting the cookie didn't do it for me either. Problem still remains... Maybe something to do with Firefox?

My first thought would be cookies too.
I guess you could try logging out from NZFF and then deleting the cookie, then logging back in and making sure to select the 'Remember Me' option.
At the same time, I would also clear your cache (although it shouldn't be that) and maybe check your settings in Firefox.
Check that Firefox is allowing cookies to be set and letting all that happen properly.
I would also try another browser, like Internet Explorer or downloading Safari or Opera. Then you can see if you get the problem using those browsers as well, which should tell you where the problem lies to a certain extent.
I don't have these issues and I haven't had them before, but this is probably a good general guide for cookie related login problems.
