Black prop disc?

A forum specifically to discuss the latest and greatest of all flight simulators

Apologies if this has been discussed before, but does anyone know a fix for getting Deane's Fletcher to display the prop correctly in FSX. Currently it displays as a black disk, internal and external views. Clouds and trees seem to show through it in external views though? I don't have the problem with any other aircraft, just the 400HP Fletcher?

Any solutions gratefully received. Now that I can finally run FSX I want a good aircraft to fly around in and I reckon the Fletcher is it!

Get the updated version, the one you have isn't compatible with sp2(assuming you have it installed)

Type "deane" into avsim under fsx original aircraft. Any of the bottom 2

Thanks, and yes, it was indeed SP2 that caused the problem. I went and edited the alpha channel in the end and that fixed it. Unfortunately doing the same with the Alphasim Harvard doesn't work as well. Apparently the fix for that is to pay Alphasim for another FSX model - a bit of a rip off since I already purchased a model for FSX!

Having said that, even with FSX running smoothly it still doesn't compare that well to FS9, so I'm heading back to FS9 where everything works perfectly and looks good. FSX will remain on the hard drive, for now, but it still has a long way to go before it can replace FS9 for me.
