Found something of interest just outside of Seoul, so if you are stuck in Seoul then have a look at this. Turns out to be one of the original Pan Am 747 100s named Juan Trippe, the founder of Pan Am and the man who encouraged Boeing to produce the 747. A short but very interesting piece about him at this link:-

I am still trying to work out how they got this 747 to where it is, as there are hills all around and no flat space long enough for a runway. Now is is surrounded by apartment blocks, so looks a bit out of place. It was a restaurant but appears to be closed down now, and despite attempts, I was unable to get inside to have a look at the cockpit.

smooth landings.

Yes, if you have not been there, Seoul is that ugly!!

smooth landings.

Do travel a lot due to work, but am getting VERY tired of airports and the hassles at airports now. Also remember the days when you could count on getting 3 seats to yourself and stretch out, but now that is unusual. I notice a lot of news in the papers about fuel surcharges on airlines, so the tickets are going up a lot due to the oil price rises. Also getting frustrated about the time taken to get bags back at some airports now and the long check in queues. Perhaps will change my sign in name to unhappy traveller!!!

smooth landings.

That's not something you expect to see in the middle of the city. Could do with a clean though!
