Wanaka FSX sneak-peek

I didn't really have any intention of updating Wanaka, simply because the FS2004 version didn't sell well enough to pay for the time it took to make. Still, I have been thinking more and more about a proper FSX Wanaka lately, so I thought I'd get started and see where it goes...

Just kidding- the FSX river water mask looks amazing!

To me an airfield thats only seriously used once a year isnt an attraction as much as a nice busy airport. Just my preference I guese in answering Ians question.

Haha yeah I was actually surprised when I went odown there for WOW this year....Flying over the area in default FSX you're like 'This cant be right....it's too deserty' but then when you are down there, it is very similar.

It will be hard one to make a revised texture for, as you can see in Robs aerial imagery, most of the changes in texture are caused by local topological changes (steep hills) rather than changes in actual texture.

Also, a birdy told me that 3 of the main guys who have been organising WOW from the start have called it quits....it will be interesting to see what the next WOW is like (if it goes ahead at all?)

Well I am definitely buying Wanaka FSX when it is released, another absolute must have. The quality of the other Godzone releases should persuade others to buy this one as well.

Credit card is ready and waiting for the release.

smooth landings.

Hi Robin
Good to see the news of a late September release for Wanaka & Tekapo for FSX.
The new photos are superb and I really like the inclusion of the missions.
Hope you can get a good airshow together with AI planes. I know you thought this might push it beyond a CD but as payware I think it would be appreciated.
Anyway the month will pass more quickly with a treat to look forward to!
Cheers
Mike
