Who is keen for this?

For everything about online flying around New Zealand

Postby ScottyB » Fri Apr 25, 2008 8:29 pm

Hi guys,

Does anybody want to join me on a scenic flight around Fiordland. We will take off from NZMF and from there we will just play-it-by-air (excuse the pun) and see where we end up?

I am wanting about 4-8 people to come.

Thanks

It sounds fun! When do we do it? What kind of aircrafts - it's only important because of the speed :a Beech 1900 and a Cub can't fly formation >buck<
Maybe it woud be worth to a have common aircraft this time. Maybe DC3 is a bit big for this but a Cessna would do it.

I think we need a nice freeware model which has some New Zealand textures. Good old Fletcher?

Or the ones what were used on Birthday Fly-in?

I'd love to go, but not sure if I'll get away from rFactor at the moment...and I still need to get a mic and headphones set for multiplayer on flightsim, speaking of which, how much are they?

There are no hard fast rules for the flight. Fly in what you would like! We are just interested in getting together for a bit of fun so bring whatever you can handle! In the past we have taken Tomahawks, R44 helis, caravans, DC-3's and the like. Don't worry if you dont have a headset, i think i spent about $60 for mine but the have lasted well, and they give so much more to the game. We dont type much, so if you want to talk i suggest maybe saving up and buying a pair.
We dont have any ATC on and basically eat, drink, joke about, talk flight stuff and fly.

Wow Paul! Really nice pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They give back the real feeling of those nights (I was there so I know :) )! I don't think that the quality of these shots is priority 1, it's more about " Hey guys, look at this, this IS fun, so come along next time!!!", and these shots perfectly serve their purpose. I've taken a nice shot of my Bell, the Rotorua geysers, and the other players, I'll upload that one next week.
