I have been looking to buy an old Piper P25 for a long time. Last week, one finally arose. It was for sale on the Chatham Islands. The P25 had been used primarily for crop-dusting of the island, but has now passed its time. So....last night i flew out to the Chathams and stayed the night with some family friends that i know.

I awoke a 6:00am this morning and headed straight for the airport. There she was. My new, beautifully restored Piper P25. I checked her over and loaded up. At 6:30 i departed the Chathams, ready for my long journey home to Christchurch. The weather looked dodgy as a big southerly front was due to hit in the afternoon. The cloud was closing in and i had to get home quickly.

A bit of turbulence on the way was enough to test the Piper, but she handled like a dream. I finally touched down in Christchurch around luchtime.

Here are some screenies:

In the ongoing battle between objects made of aluminum going hundreds of miles per hour and the ground going zero miles per hour, the ground has yet to lose.
