There is a 'special' version of this available for download for use in this weekend's NZFF Birthday flyin. 'Special' in the sense that this is a working version but not complete:)

I'd say that's a pretty generous gesture.

And just look who turns up at 19:00 GMT to see what all the fuss is about!

Not too much wrong with this scenery...

Robin,

If that's your "Beta" version I cannot wait for your final "Alpha" package!!

Would be interested to know where you sourced the housing "addon" scenery to replace the default autogen houses near the aerodrome....the Midlands housing complex to the SE of the airfield is far more realistic than in your FSX NZPP scenery.

And the "texture" of the runways is how I remember then over 20 years ago!!.....hopefully, runway 34/16 may be in for an upgrade/reseal in the near future with new developments planned (and recently approved by local Council) for the entire airfield complex.

Cheers,

Bob R

It looks great!
The textures on the runway aren't the best for approach but it is still dang good.

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

Thanks, Bob. One of the problems with placing the big background photo polygon is that it nukes the autogen way outside the airport boundaries. You can see where the autogen finishes, and where I've begun to replace it with my own trees (using default autogen textures, though) and my own houses. To make the houses I just aimed my camera out my window here in Lyttelton and shot the houses across the valley:)

In FSX, all the houses are still default autogen, as the autogen isn't lost the same way.

One issue with replacing the autogen trees -- no seasonal textures, it's always summer at Paraparaumu...

This is something I've mentioned before -- Voz for FS2004 had its own autogen building textures, based on Australian buildings, it would be a worthwhile project to do this here. The buildings would still be autogen, and therefore the same shape as autogen, but the textures would be more kiwi-like. Any takers?

Kelburn -- the ground textures don't work well unless you set your Global texture resolution to 'massive'. Even then, on low-end systems, they might drop to lower mipmaps.

Thanks a million Rob- gotta love the high-res ground textures there, it will be perfect for the NZFF Birthday Fly In :D

Neat how you are using that transperent blending from "photoclass" border to ordinary landclass, a first with Real NZ products is it?

Yes, that's the plan.
By the way, alpha comes before beta -- nobody ever gets to see the alpha version of my scenery:)
