In all honesty Jim,................ not much at all !!
You really will need to invest in a 3D Video Card for your machine. On-board graphics just cant cut it with stuff like FS.

Jim, if you've got the newer Intel GMA X3100 (not the earlier GMA 950), then you might like to give X-Plane a try. It's not nearly as demanding as MSFS. You can get the demo at http://www.x-plane.com/beta.html (download the installer and give it a whirl).

It still won't be as good a separate 3D video card, but I've heard that some X-Plane users are finding success.

Hi Jim,

I think you'll easily be able to run most AFCAD-type sceneries without many issues. Your frames may take a hit if you try to install some of the massively detailed freeware (or payware) products out there. You should download and try some to see (in a trial and error sort of way) what sort of performance you can get when the squeeze is put on. :)

Are there any specific areas you are interested in? ;)

Alex

PS; nVidia GeForce 7950GT (PCIe)

my laptop has a simple nVidia 8400.

Try MACH-1 scenery as their scenery is quite processor and graphics friendly

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

Hey

I have about $200 to spend on a new graphics card. Im just not sure which to go with, Nvidia or ATI?

The scenery that im interested in are is Marlborough. However I havnt been able to find any scenery for this area.

Can some point me in the right direction?

It depends on the hardware you're matching it to. How old, or more exactly - what motherboard/CPU setup, do you have?
