Has anybody got any pics of NZOP Opotiki Airfield ?????
Particularly any aerial shots of the layout of the place, but anything would be of help.
Google's pic is just a blob.................
Purpose,................ building a scenery, of course,.......... to go with the soon to come NZWK Whakatane scenery im building for FS9. :)

Try one of these images at LINZ
http://www.linz.govt.nz/core/topography/ae...pw15/index.html

I think it's Opotiki airfield I can see on the right most pic. You can either get the large JPEG image or, if you don't want the compression artifacts, get the TIFF. It's a lot larger though.

Here's one from late last year:

There are a few small hangars and a sealed apron to the left of the shot, along with a big fenced fuel tank and pumps. You can also see one of the windsocks about the middle of the photo next to the road.

LINZ images will get you out of almost any bind as far as this stuff goes. Only thing to be wary of (apart from the obvious low res and black and white) is that they are rather old so probably won't reflect the runway layout as it is today.

Yes, i do use LINZ images quite frequently, but only when i cant get a decent Google pic, or actual recent photographs taken by someone.

Sorry Lawrie that's the only photo I took at Opotiki.

I remember that hangar with the ultralight painted on - from a distance I actually thought it was a real plane at first glance.
