FSX Scenery Enhancements

A forum specifically to discuss the latest and greatest of all flight simulators

Just getting back into flight sim again.
Are slowly getting familiar with FSX.
Have toured the South Island & are currently doing the North.
What NZ scenery enhancements are available for FSX?
Do they just enhance what is already on the sim or are they more authentic, ie do they depict what is actually there now?
Also I like flying the Beaver as I built & used to fly an RC model some time ago. Is there any way to get one on wheels?

Such a cool way to find stuff...assume it's just FSX?
Er, What's Kiwifruit Country??

And, Aardmore unlike Aardvark, has only 1 "A" >nzflag<

Hey Charl...

Kiwifruit Country is something im working on...that is why its on the map but not available.
Nautalis is part of those other markers you see on the map...ive no idea where they came from!

The colour of the symbols actually relates to whether its FSX or FS9 and whether its payware or not. The shape of the symbol relates to if its a Airport or other type of scenery...I just havnt got around to making a legend for the map yet :)

Sounds interesting!
I'm imagining the finished product, bristling with pins and things, (and a legend, of course)
Be a great resource.

No but they provide a brilliant base to plonk all the other things down on...
Stock NZ is transformed in FS9 by the mesh and topo.
All the best sceneries are designed to sit on that backdrop.
FSX is a tad less well serviced all round but given time will get more goodies.

At this stage I am just concerned with NZ.
There seems to be a variety availabe.
It looks like I will have to spend some $$$$$.
I would prefer to prefer to buy 1 that covers the whole country rather than several separate.
Am I better to wait for the FSX versions or go for the FS004 with patch?
Any idea when they are due & will they be better?
Also it would apear I need 20M Mesh. I can't seem to find where to get that.

I believe you can patch the FS2004 version into FSX, so no seperate purchase required? (Please somebody correct me if I'm wrong :wink2: )

I'm sure the AeroSoft (payware) Beaver has been patched (or works as-is) for FSX. It comes with wheels, skies, float and amphibian models.
