Acceleration race

For everything about online flying around New Zealand

Postby Christian » Fri Feb 29, 2008 11:14 pm

Are there an Acceleration owners here? I'd love to give some of the races a spin, but there don't seem to be many people online with Acceleration. I'd be keen to organise something next week.

Cheers,
Christian

Hi Ian

Not many takers it seems. I'll try to get some enthusiasm over at the VOZ forums as well then.

When would be a good time for you? I'd prefer evenings after 9pm NZ time - or weekend...

Only problem with racing online is if people cheat like how does a cessna 172 beat a P51? BTW I'd be up for a Hornet canyon race.

RENO....with a quik look and practice its setup were you have one type only, P51 this time around , not a free flight type race :) requires engine/fuel management , flying around pylons , miss one - flying inside the course you get 10 sec penalty and i guess disqualified ... could be a lot of fun , guess a bit of practice will really help :P sorta beat the clock within 8 or so laps

Other racing involves the Extra 300 , seen a little of this on sports afternoon year so back on TV ...... its time to start watching more off it ... get the yoke swapped with joystick and a hole lotta learning on this one ! and to get too no what to do .. and what direction , Nigel Lamb is a pilot i recall , display pilot during Wanaka many times , autogen slider s off to show nothing - how these guys do this for real ! WOW!

I've had a go at all the races the P51 races are ok but the Redbull ones are the way to go as there is alot more involved aside flying in a big circle and yes it was the Pylon race with the P51 where I got beat by a cessna doing 400kts. BTW Longleat is the one to try the trees add a bit more challenge.
