CLS Release Sydney Scenery and Patches
Posted: Wednesday, February 13, 2008 - 12:41

Commercial Level Simulations have announced the release of Sydney (YSSY) for Flight Simulator 9 & Flight Simulator X. The scenery has been in development for over two years. In conjunction with the release of this scenery, you can buy the scenery and the Piper Arrow aircraft for a special discounted price. CLS have also released product patches to make the A340-500/-600 and F117A compatible with FSX-SP2. If you like the idea of flying down-under, or flying ultra-long-haul with an Airbus then head over to Commercial Level Simulations

Looks pretty average from the preview screenshots- wonder what it is like on framerates and whether it will blend it with the VOZ scenery?

It looks terrible- I've seen MUCH better freeware. Did they even go to Sydney to make it?

If you told me that was payware for FS2002 that was released 6 years ago I'd believe you.

Looks ok ,theres alot of work in building a airport ,but two years in development ? thats a long time
i suppose it has filled a gap for the ozzy simmers though and they will appreciate it more than us ,they sure did aim for a good simming market there, gotta give them that ..

Yeah...always thought the default scenery pretty satisfying really, and if pushed there was better freeware available in FS2002.

I had a serious look at this scenery , compared to Robins wellington , looks so generic ! But in saying that i did the airport tour , VOZ had created something i was able to reconnise pic things out , landmarks and such , since I fly to Sydney as mush-out long haul with 74/76 maybe should buy and give a review and see what it has to offer , least a look  .

...Speaking of which, I haven't had Wiggy installed for a bit - does it work on 20m mesh?

I was to have a look to day for Wiggy X , as with NZCH , I am sure both require changing the texture format to DSS , then require new AFCADs with AFX , but the sun dictated me to seat outside (beer and block) in the sun again , and read Naval history of WW2 :) plus the sun :D

Ian you crack me up  I was excited to see a YSSY appear for the possibility of putting in the Sydney Flight Experience, but given the poor reviews, and terrible look on the screenshots, even Pac Sim won't want to spend the money on that lol

I probably wouldnt spend money on it- But it looks pretty similar to VOZ- And VOZ frame rates are really bad at SYD. If they were suddenly to make it free, and able to fit in with VOZ, I would definently get it :D

YSSY tour person .. YIP wanted this scenery - The thing that Chew'd me up was the blatant way the author reaconed did regular visits to the airport to view and check details ( I DO BELIEVE THE EYES WERE PAINTED ON ) and from what i picked out from the forums , .. was not ready listening to anyone informative , then charged for it  ... ok FS5 is a little harsh , very MAX , a new scenery for FS98 REAL!

Sydney Airport is very nicely recreated within the VOZ scenery mate.

In fact it is a much better representation than this absolute junk being peddled as payware!!
