FSX SP2.

Interested to hear from others their views on installing SP2. I have SP1 installed, and have been waiting to hear more feedback about SP2. I will probably not install Acceleration but wonder if it is still worth installing SP2. Pros versus cons of installing???????

If anybody has installed it, does it remove add-ons already put into FSX?

thanks in advance.

Smooth landings.

I also installed SP2 when I did a rebuild. No problems with it at all. There are one or two old aircraft with some texture issues, and some sceneries have texture issues (mostly trees & static vehicles), generally because the author has recycled some old FS2002 objects rather than making new ones. But otherwise, no problems reported. Frame rates are generally good, if I bother to look.

One warning though: SP2 will overwrite the cfg files, so make backups before you install it, particularly if you've modified terrain.cfg, or added repaints of the stock aircraft. Some scenery (Ultimate Terrain, Vancouver+ etc) needs to have a "repair" performed afterwards so it can rewrite its cfg entries.

I have installed SP2 also and it has been a good experience. I noticed a slight increase in smoothness in the sim, a small increase in FPS and the only negative I have seen is as noted earlier, is that a few problems with older pre fsx planes.

I have not got SP2 installed, and all seems to have gone ok. Cannot see any major increases in fps though, but perhaps the real benefits will come later. Must wait on Microsoft to issue a SP3 to finally get FSX right, although I guess that they are now working on FS11 instead.

Smooth landings.
