Now im not trying to jump the gun to much i hope ,but from the day i signed upto this project ive had some cool ideas and projects id like to share ..

Firstly ive just been down to NZNP ,I managed to get over 700 photos ,at lest half of those where able for textures to build basic photoreal buildings ..
ive spilt them into areas /ports of naki /hospital with helo base /city buildings/ helicopternz base/ main airport buildings /

my thought on this little project is to build it all , have some hands to build afcads ,3d buildings ,text docos /installers /default oil rigs fsx /fs9 ..and dream of all dreams fsx missions from this point ..
Ive already built most of the textures needed for this project ...

Next would be taupo airport ,ive got most of the textures done for here aswell from a helo flight i did alittle while back ...
the same work as naki would have to be done here ,

i also have a running hamz2008 airport with 3d buildings afcad for X and 9 just needs acouple more things done and complied ,i would like more input into getting it right or its going to sit on my hard drive for abit longer ..

The only airport above that is close to my heart would be hamz , Ill do the others only because i have enough source photos for them not because ive always wanted to do them ..
im very happy to build any airports /citys /etc if you have the right photos for the job ,also im happy to help ppls wanting to learn 3d modelling on TeamSpeak,
Ive been know to have you building/and knowing what you are doing in less than a hour ..

Anyway food for thought .. ;)
>nzflag<
EDIT: also have waiheki island airport photos

Wow looking awesome Mike- if this is FSX exclusive, could you at least pass off your source files to a FS9'er to compile separately?

Seeing we are doing it for both i will 4 now ,im just saving them out with dx3/dx5 textures and without night textures "very basic" ,this will help with payware / freeware thing .

So far all shows up ok in both versions with these texture formats ,though tree files have to be placed again in FSX ,and of course hardens on helipads ive done in fs9 will have to be done again for FSX versions ..
theres lots to do but im happy with the work load at the moment .and are slowly pushing through it all ..

Well at the moment nznp and nzjq are to my part finshed ..
i would be just looking for anyone to place them again to a afcad that meets the standards here..
I dont want to spend much longer than i need to with this one ,ive used dx5 for fsx but as you mite of read in another topic im having blurrys with it in fsx ,im happy to sort that part out when i learn how ...
i would like to finish hamz2008 buildings off today "maybe "and post the two projects together here ..
lawrie has the buildings for hams ive done so far and was going to look in to the placement side of things there ..

i found the scenery addon Taranaki Region - By David Hall really good ,does anyone know him ,would he let us use it maybe ???

i would like to just build quick buildings for different airports and let others sort out the other parts "if thats realistic thinking " and post the bgls/scenery librarys and some temp placement files here for that work to be done ..
i think we have alot of ppls here that could place the files ,but not many that make them ,so it mite be more pro productive to just make the 3d models for me and the project .. "there is abit of work involved just to get them to that stage..

anyway ill post some files here later and see what you guys think and where to go too from there ...

Well here is the fs2004 and FSX versions of NZNP and hospital NZJQ ,the objects are placed in position but are no way final, whoever wants to finish it for fsx can ,these are the photoreal objects for the job
lawrie said he would have ago at the 2004 version ,
now id just like to say whatever objects you would like to add to the airport in any version is just fine for the end product ,whatever after this is upto you guys ,but plz realease only with the main project ..

EDIT: downloads removed

i know there is something wrong with the fs9 hospital hanger and will get a fix soon for it ..
enjoy im off to a good old NZ BBQ

Well here is a zip file for the Hamilton2008 for fsx ,the files and textures all work in fs9 but would have to be placed again ,lawrie was playing around with it for 2004 and ive done as much as i think i can do for now ,i really lost the passion for the project not being able to do things to higher standards , all the same it has it own appeal and is good of frames ,
it fits in with the default or topo with landclass pretty well ..
I kinda hope i dont have to do anymore with this file ,
Hamilton2008X

plz try it out have some fun and if you feel that you can make it better with mods plz do so
i would hope to release this with the project .
let me know how you like it or if its cr@p :P

ps the extra objects are in the file lawrie that you need
:extrax with note
:lifeflight with note
thats all you will need

Yeah i think they do still work ,i had them working the first time i had X but since then im unsure ,from memory i had to put them in a different folder to show up "weird " but it did work ..
ill have a look in to it today as i didnt wake up in time to go to the airshow another 3am finish ,so was just finishing of a war ship ,was going to name it Waikato

while im here and typing ill just ask this stuiped question how many faces and vert can i have in a model ,i really hate not being able to model in higher details for this sim , i try to remove as many faces as i can anyway but sometime you just have to have them

i really want to push detail in some of my side projects ,you wouldn't believe how many i actually do between building scenery ..

anyway ian thanks and ill get back to you shortly about the agns ,about 3hrs ..misses has seen a op to exploit my lawn mowing skills today since im not going the show ... <_<

Not sure really about the moving part , ive only been able to build moving ones in the sim twice before , this is a source file that im modding ,i take no credit for the design at this stage ,but soon hopefully she will look like a mean machine .
this source file was really high end ,and i was just thinking it was going to be easyier to build myself ,but im giving this ago anyway to see what can be done for X "limits"
it did compile a mdl and will go in the sim but i dont want to have ppls systems crashing ...
Yes id like this to have all the bells and whistles on this model but i find the count and detail im try to achieve frustrating /yes it will have a harden X pad ,and will look into getting it moving like the bell 222 im trying to get flying at the moment .

Mike I read somewhere 20,000 vertices for FS9 and 60 for FSX.
But you need to leave a little headroom...

Hiya Mike.
Been away on holiday for the last couple of weeks, and only home for 2 days , then away again.
Had a play around with Hamilton in between other stuff before i went away, done about 50% of it for FS9.
Airport looks much better when moved back towards the FS9 default location, even though it is not quite correct in real life, but it seems to blend in to the RBE Topo ground textures better.............??????

Had a very brief look at New Plymouth for FS9,............. buildings look GRAND mate, especially the terminal,.....
thats TOP-NOTCH !!
Thinking of abandoning my own New Plymouth which is about 75% complete...................

Look into more when i get back again from holidays.............

Thanks lawrie ive been told we have a year anyway and not to rush ,im guessing i mite have done a lot more airports by then as im at the half way mark already with taupo ,where to after this one ???
i wouldnt mind doing some south island airports after this seeing ive just done three for the north island ,i wouldnt like to think that the southland guys think im leaving them out at all ..

helicopter bases are my thing ,i like to cover places i mite fly to one day ..rescue bases are the biggest puller for me so some of you mite want to put in some requests as you know the areas better than me

anyway back to taupo terminal only 30mins left building that one

ian i havent forgot, ill jump into testing soon ,just gotta finish what im doing at the this moment ..
