One decision I have made is not to use VOZ, or go around Aussie. There is a reason for this madness - quite simply, this really is a trip in itself and I think would be a real shame to just quickly fly over this. There are a couple of people completing an around OZ with VOZ and hopefully they will keep a track of some of the more interesting places they visit.

fantastic. Will you be doing it off or online? Is each leg going to be random or will the next start from where the last finished?

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

Online/Offline - I will probably end up doing them offline, but may still do some online, depending if I know I'm not going to get interrupted or not by the little one.

Each flight will continue where the last one left off. If I know there is some nice scenery near where I'm stopping, I may take an eggbeater out.

My plan is to list the airports that I will be visiting soon (probably as I complete a leg, the next nth will be mentioned, so that if anyone knows of good scenery either there - or near to it I can adjust the plans etc.)

From time to time if I know I'm going over a really pretty area - I may mention that I'm flying on my server, or at random times. Will be fun, and I hope some others will join in. I'm likely to be putting together a forum solely for the sharing of ideas for this trip instead of filling up the NZFF one, as it's not totally NZ related.

I do hope to do an NZ one as well, but may get others to do that if they're interested, and link to it - but that's in the future, lets see how this one goes. I should be releasing my first few stops over the weekend.

All the FSNordic Finland scenery is worth a mention in this thread.

The airports are pretty small, but they remind me of the REAL NZ style of quality, with photoreal grass textures included with most.

Has anyone tried this new '9Dragons Kai Tak Airport, Hong Kong' from MileHigh Productions?

It's in five parts on avsim and the screenshots look pretty impressive: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...amp;DLID=115040

Has anyone downloaded Phil Reynolds freeware fs2004 Birmingham International Airport scenery, released the other day on avsim. The small thumbnail and the blurb look impressive, but I can't find any fullsized screenshot previews.

Filename is 'egbb_pr_fs9_v1.zip'

Well I've never been to Birmingham, and it is possibly at the bottom of places I'd want to visit, but the scenery is very good freeware.
Another FSX project reverse-engineered for FS9...

Here's one that got away - Budapest 2007.
It's had plenty of write-ups so I won't rattle on.
It comes with a dual-install for FS9

plus FSX which I thought quite enticing.

The FSX version can be packed away as a definitely FUTURE investment. I haven't seen 4 fps in a sim for a very long time, but there it was.
In FS9 there's no such problem, just a shortage of AI, probably a trip to the Russian AI shop would fix this.

It's a big scenery, well done, standard is perhaps FlyTampa Vienna.

It comes with a photoreal spread of Budapest, and plenty of detail in the landscape.
Great European addition, some more slides below

For the record, that Birmingham airport is nothing too special, not worthy of a place in this thread anyway...

That Budapest scenery on the other hand looks fantastic! Where did you get it from, I can't see it on avsim? Also, what 757 model/repaint is that? Can't seem to place it...

Well, just give Birmingham the old Mod Sweep then...

Boeing is Capsim.
Budapest is Aerosoft payware - it was a freebie reward for doing some flightsim voice sets for an upcoming release - more of that later. ;)

Y'know every time you think you may tire of flight simming, something comes along to broaden the horizon and lift the bar, and awaay you go.
This scenery will kick off some interesting East European travels (Odessa is loaded and ready as well!)

I cant speak for the FSX package, but the FS9 one is Brilliant.
If your looking for traffic for it Charl, have a look at PAI for............

Carpatair
Malev Airlines
Malev Express

Those are the locals that fill it up quite nicely, but you should also see traffic there from British Airways, Lufthansa, VLM Air, TAP, Scandinavian, Ryanair, KLM, Iberia, Finnair, EasyJet, Alitalia, just to name some others i see in and out of there........

Also,........ if you have Budapest 2005, you can also add all the other nearby airports, LHBS, LHDK, LHFH, LHGD, LHHH, LHTL, that werent in the 2007 version.

This looks like one for the books-

Malta International Airport v2.0

File Description:
An accurate and detailed rendition of the airport featuring:
Airfield texture made from 1m/pixel aerial images including seasonal changes.
Hi-res asphalt and concrete textures.
Hi-res grass texture.
Buildings and airfield layout created from actual blueprints.
Custom and accurate night lighting.
Custom airfiled signs.
Static vehicles.
Afcad File included.
Compatible only with Fs2004. An FSX version will later follow. Every now and then a series of updates will be released in order to reflect the current changes happening at the real airport.

New freeware from maltascenery.net. Charl, you might want to give us a little review flying a short hop from your new Budapest scenery if you have the time ;)

Looks pretty good - I had some Malta scenery at one point and it was a great port of call when cruising the Med.
I hope Oliver Pabst does some AES animation for it - it's become sort of mandatory for me, when I look at new airports.
It's a very clever business model I reckon, and he's generous with his freebies too - I see there's a free install for that amazing 9Dragons Kai Tak scenery.
