Hi all, i have a problem with my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, when ever i push the throttle lever forward it decreases th rpm then increases it, and when you cut the throttle the aircraft goes to full boar?

This happens in my AFG Beechcraft super king air 300 and only recently started happening, i have tried calibrating my joystick

Cheers, Blabzillaweasel

Go into options then under controls, look for control axes, look for throttle axes and check if "reverse" or "inverse" is selected.

I have that joystick but haven't installed software for it(it doesn't need it) so I'm not sure about those options

I tried that and it still doesn't work, remember this is only in a single plane

it sounds like there is a configuration conflict of some sort... does the logitech come with any management/calibration software?? If so, then it may be conflicting with the windows calibration setup, as this is what FS uses by default... so they may be fighting for control.

Do you mean it only happens in that particular aircraft... or only in a single engine? coz last time I checked, the King Air was a Twin! <_<

Hmmmm so in other aircraft, the throttle operates fine??

In that case I can think of two things which may be causing the problem... firstly, the model has some interesting 'quirks'... I have never heard of AFG, but I did a quick search and found their forum...

Looks like others have had issues with the throttles and sounds... you also have to remember that this is a turbine aircraft... it does not operate like a standard piston powered aircraft... the throttle is actually a 'Power Control Lever'... and the mixture is actually a 'Condition Lever'... Engine control is a lot different... you do not just open and close the throttle, you need to adjust the condition levers, the pitch and the power...

There are other more knowledgeable people on here than I, as I tend to fly light single engine aircraft like 152's...

Also, they have a FAQ on the kingair and I found this:

QUOTE
Q:
I have noticed that the prop RPM occasionally jumps very high. What is going on?

A:
The jump occurs when FS switches the propeller from the minimum allowed pitch angle in flight to minimum allowed pitch angle on ground. During this transition the prop RPM can jump over the maximum allowed. This happens when engaging/disengaging reverse thrust, for example. We can reduce this problem by increasing the minimum pitch on ground, but it will give you more thrust and make controlling your speed more difficult.[/quote]

so that may explain why it revs so high when you close the throttle... perhaps you are actually engaging reverse thrust???

The second (and fairly unlikely) reason why it may be doing odd things is that if you have the registered version of FSUIPC, you may have accidentally setup an aircraft specific joystick config for that aircraft... FSUIPC lets you arrange things different for different aircraft, so you might have setup some weird settings by accident for that model...

I'm sure I'm not engaging reverse thrust because then if i hit F2 it starts roaring.

Guess Ill Just Have To live With It, Thanks For The Help! <_<

Also, have you installed the 1.01 update for this aircraft? I see that AFG have released a patch...
