Sorry, I did see the other post, but I put it on hold until I could come up with something. (I actually had to look at the patch to see what it did, it's been so long...)
Unfortunately I haven't heard of anything like this, so we might need to look a bit more.
The NZWN AFCAD is included in the RealNZwgtn\scenery folder, so this SHOULD always be accessible. The only reason why it wouldn't work is if there was a conflicting AFCAD-type file. (The likely location being Addon Scenery\Scenery)
The 'incorrect landclass' you mention sounds like the type of thing you get when a landclass scenery has a higher priority than the Wellington scenery. Any landclass should be tucked in before 'Addon Scenery' in the library, otherwise you may get it over-riding other scenery.
