Just $4000 sounds a bit expensive- Then Im not sure about car prices these days in New Zealand. A car like that in Australia- Maxiumum $3500 but probably less..

I brought my new car (2 door coupe BNR32 Skyline) for 8.5Gs and IMO this is nicer

Thanks guys, I just can't find anything wrong with it. NZ New, 2 Owners, Very low k's, nice rims/paint/audio, 1.8 so economical+I won't be tempted to speed
Alarm, Sunroof.

It's only $2,000 for me because my awsum dad has said he'll equal what I save/pay half. Now I'll see if I can get a loan from mum for the other half.. Thanks god for holiday jobs

I would say its ok for the money with all the little extras ,but in the future when it does start to die and need parts you are going to have to dig deep in the pocket ,,
firstly i notice the guy who is selling it hangs out with a dude with a skyline and takes lots of photos etc.., this would mean to me that these guys cruz abit skyline vs volks all around town ,
the pimping of it alone tells me this car mite of had its pedal to the metal abit more than a normal car ,
i dont think personally this car will be a good investment for a first car , the brand is good but first car etc alot of money in the future for you maybe dealing with the problems that will no doubt to me will happen ...

Going from it's history I'm thinking the problems you talk about might be a fair way off.
I don't mind if the car's been thrashed, because that's all I'm going to do to it

Euro cars are always expensive to fix because the parts here are hard to come by and have to be shipped from far away.

Looks pretty mint though, good to see its a manual.. but why not got for a cheap jap import? Say a good ole 323

And that I know has been driven well, unlike most jap imports (not because I am being racist, but because there aren't as many chances to drive a car properly in Japan, it's all just city driving which isn't good for the engine.)

I'd say go check the cambelt too, around 100,000k is when most cars need a replacement.

I would never buy another Eurpean car again I am afraid (I have had too many nightmares with them), they are less reliable , parts are scarce and usually have to be shipped from Europe (particularly an older European car that wasn't sold here in big numbers) and they are generally not as well built as Japanese cars. In saying that I think VWs aren't too bad from a reliability point of view BUT Japanese cars are still better.

You could look for a good solid jap import for that price. Parts would be cheap as.

I have had a VW, Nissan, Toyota, Mercedes (used them all over 250.000km) and now for a year a Volvo V70.
After all I prefer a Toyota for reliability and price.
