Finally met Yak42aholic yesterday! Once more Scotty, great to put a face to the name!

The nutcase was one of the Young Eagles having a flying day - Airtourer, Super Cub, Pacer, Nanchang and Tiger Moth. Scott was lucky enough to snaffle a ride in ZK-BER, the coolest Tiger on the planet, with my good mate Adam. Please find attached some pics of Scott's first "real aeroplane" experience. And I mean a proper, seat-of-the-pants warbird, not just R/W!

Many thanks once more to Tim Sullivan for tossing me in the back of the Aero Club's Super Cub 'ERB to take pics of our young Yak52aholic in the air. I can tell you, he was all smiles and thumbs the whole time!!!!!

Scott said he's off on a school camp for a week, so he hasn't seen these yet. cool.gif

Zac that 2nd pic is so familar yet I have never being to Omaka! - and it is starting to look like the RealNZ version again -all dry.

Read a little story about BER - quite an interesting history.

BER is a fascinating machine...to think Graham and Peter bought her as a project at only 17! Fantastic! She sounds different to other NZ-based Tigers, too - she has the four separate exhaust stubs, as opposed to the one long pipe.

Yup, certainly is getting dry again.....haven;t seen the hills this brown since Easter! But yeah, I was wondering how Scotty felt looking down at Omaka from the Tiger, as I was thinking how many times I;d done it in FS!

Bit of a rumour flying round so to speak lol.

At the moment some people have been saying that Wings and Wheels Over Waikato may not even happen but as I said nothing is confirmed about it going or not going ahead.

Yup but from what people have said he expects CTC to stay grounded for 3 days aka close its doors and the same with Waikato Aero Club and has also only spoken with NZHN Owners/Shareholders once so I can't understand where the rumours are coming from and why they have been spat out cos why else would some one put a shite load of money into advertising it everywhere dunno its way beyond me just reporting what credible sources have said.

Gidday! I'm back from the camp. At last I can see those pics. Wow man it was a fun day there! I first went up in the Nanchang for some aerobatics with Adam. He let me do a roll and fly it back to Omaka. I got a big thrill from the G-forces I had never experienced in a way like that before. After a while it was time for the Tiger ride. I was only wearing my jersey when I went up there but it didn't matter because I was too excited to be cold. Anyway it was a fun day and I can't wait until next year's flyday!

Scott you might know Reece Garlick? He's a good mate of mine and I think He and his dad Ian (great bloke tongue.gif ) are at Omaka fairly often.
