Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Postby Florian_S » Thu Oct 11, 2007 12:50 am

Hi guys,

Came across THIS aircraft on airliners.net earlier today.

So I fired up FS Repaint and came up with this tonight:

This real life aircraft belongs to the Kapiti Districts Aero Club and is based at NZPP I believe.

Basically this is just slight modification of the standard Brown and Orange Carenado texture where necessary so I wont be uploading it anywhere. But if any of you would like this aircraft in your hangar please PM me with your email addy and I will get the file out to you.

Cheers

I'll just jump in here and say it won't hurt to upload it if you don't mind the extra bit of work involved.
Somewhere a Carenado owner will think it's cool and get some pleasure from it.
If this gives you a kick, go for it. But I reckon one should never feel obliged.
All freeware starts with doing something for your own satisfaction, otherwise Why Bother?
The flightsim world revolves around a lot of folk sharing their personal pleasures.
This is a self-sustaining roundabout, and very few thankyou's are made, or even thought necessary.
Problem is when freeware goes a little beyond what you would've done for yourself - no-one knows this, and so of course they don't acknowledge it.
This is not the community's fault, it's just in your head.
'Course the next major issue is when you come up with a great new idea, and somebody steals it and improves it!
It's called progress.
Ooh I am going on a bit here, but I speak as one who's gone the extra mile and felt a tad let down at the end of the process.
I've stayed in the flightsim community becasue I reckon it's amazing to see the dynamics of such a vast and varied group, revolving around a particularly geeky interest.
And you come across the nicest people...

Way of the world, mate. You've actually got an extremely good response rate there. My various uploads have had many hundreds of downloads between them, and not a single word of thanks. The way to treat it is, if nobody complains, you've got a success!
