Rudder Pedals: Saitek or CH?

Righto- I think its time to buy some rudder/anti torque pedals.....im tossing up between the CH pedals or the Saitek ones

My experience with CH products is that they are like American cars: Heavily built but not strongly built.....so im tending towards the Saitek ones.

Any one have any evidence to sway me either way?

The main requirement is good for Helo flying.....

yeah id be the same Saitek are fully foot plate adjustible and look better ,also the guys at hover think they are the bees knees , buy Saitek

Ive used both, and the CH ones are really fiddley and have no authentic feel to them. Go with the Saitek Ones

I am using the CH ones but for fixed wing flying and they do the trick, they are farly Realistic

I got Saitek pedals late last year, and have worked will since, although I've had a bit of trouble assigning the toebrakes on the pedals to the toebrakes in the sim - eventually I just aliased the brakes to a key, and assigned that key to the toebrake, but its not really ideal.

Just watch out for the Saitek distributor in NZ, they have been consistently bad for me. I've ordered three Saitek products (through Harvey Norman), X52 took about three weeks to get here (from Auckland apparently), Pedals took about 1.5-2 months (GameWizz said they had them in stock - then they said they didn't, and that they would get them to me in about 2 weeks. Then said the nearest set was in Sydney etc), and a keyboard - which started playing up about 3-4 months after I bought it. Took it back to Harvey Norman for service (it was still covered by warranty) who sent it back to distributor - after trying to get an answer on it for about 2 months HN gave me a decent replacement - I've never seen or heard about the original keyboard since I dropped it off at HN...

If they've got the product in stock, go for it - Saitek have really neat, good quality gear. I just won't be doing any more buying through GameWizz (NZ Distributor). Ever.

hmmmm that is a common problem ive had with a lot of computer suppliers: They say they have something in stock right up until you buy it/pay for it and then its either "Sorry we dont have any we will have to order it in" or "sorry these are no longer made" etc......a bit annoying...if you dont have them, dont list them!

I'm the same as Ben, I have had both CH and Saitek, and I MUCH prefer the Saitek. Realistic feel, adjustable, work like real pedals and great for fixed wing and rotary wing. I now have exclusively Saitek gear and looking at their yoke at the moment as well.

That is good to hear....placed my order on Friday yay!

Although, i dont really understand why they are so expensive.....surely if racing wheels and pedals can be released for a decent price then flightsim peripherals can be the same? I might just be a 'economies of scale' thing but flightsim hardware does seem expensive....


It would be good if MS released a new series of Sidewinder stuff.....it was well priced, well made, durable etc...
