Alex
Yep, that'll work. I'll quote here from the readme, just to have it here as a reference, not to insinuate RTFM:)This update requires that the original FS2004 version of Real NZ Rotorua is first installed in FSX. To install the original FS2004 scenery in FSX, you can either:
a) if you already have RealNZrotorua installed and working in FS2004, copy the RealNZrotorua folder in its entirety into the main FSX installation folder -- normally Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X.
b) or install the original version from the Real NZ CD or download. To do this, you will need to browse to the FSX main installation folder when you run the installer, making sure that the resulting path accurately represents the FSX folder.
Once this is done, you can run the enclosed installer -- RNZrotoruaFSXupdate.exe.
The installer will obtain the FSX installation folder from the System Registry. If it is unable to find this, it will default to Program files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X.
If the installation path shown differs from the main FSX installation folder where you just installed the original scenery, you will need to navigate to the correct folder.
If you normally choose to install your addon scenery elsewhere, please install as recommended and then move the resulting folder -- RealNZrotorua -- wherever you wish.
After the installer extracts the scenery files (this may take some time as there are a large number of files involved) you will need to activate the scenery within the simulator.

The scenery looks stunning on my setup and is a credit to you. I look forward to Getting Tauranga updated. I am experimenting with settings at the moment. I know that most recommend throttling the Frame rate to say 20 odd in FS9 but does it apply to FSX.

Thanks, Peter, glad you got it sorted.
I have never been able to get good performance from either FS2004 or FSX with unlimited FPS, but other people say different. I think you need to try both for a while and see what works best for you. The more powerful your system, the more likely you'll find unlimited a better option, but it does depend a lot on what you value most -- smooth performance, good visuals, or a combination.
