A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Postby K5054NZ » Fri Jun 29, 2007 6:46 pm

Hi all

If you're at all familiar with the aviation periodicals of our fine nation, you no doubt will have seen the name Gavin Conroy pop up a few times - most notably, the centrespread and cover (seven Fokker Dr.Is) of the latest Classic Wings.

Well, Gavin is my boss!!

And he has just finished his website, showcasing his work. Let me tell you, I thought I liked his work before, now I'm totally in love.

Please, check it out here, tell your friends, spread the word. And watch this space! "We shall watch your career with much interest!"

The Classic Wings magazine shot really catches your eye on the shelves.
However the site says it's 1024x1365 -- can anyone get it to display this size? I can't.
Shooting from the air adds another dimension to aircraft photography, I'd love to try it sometime.

One thing I didn't notice earlier -- the centre spread in Classic Wings is another one of Gavin's. This is the Corsair, and it is a seriously good shot. If you don't buy CW, pop into your bookshop and just let it fall open at the centre...

Thanks for the feedback it is really appreciated and thanks for the plug Zac.
Just a couple of things, on the front page you can "optimise" the way the photos are viewed so you can click on that to resize shots if you wish. I added that feature for those still on dial up, you can find this section top left.

Thanks again for the feedback and the site will be updated when I get a chance and I have a lot to add to it yet.

Phwoarr!
Just echo all the above comments, welcome and many thanks for the post Gavin!
I'm off to Whitcoulls...
Actually, flightsim might be a good place to pre-frame air-air shots, they are often so fleeting.
Anyone know what the deal is with the backward swastika on the Bluebum??
