Even FSX is soo cheap Now! Only $35 Ive seen it for, Go on Kelburn, give yourself a treat! smile.gif

Great Scenery, Download Now...

Just been and had a look, and am surprised at how quickly they posted it at Avsim, and how many downloads its had in the VERY short time its been there !! Ive seen FS9 for $25.95 at one of the Warehouse's here in Tauranga a few weeks ago.
For that sort of money Kelburn can surely afford to upgrade from FS8 to AT LEAST FS9 !!

I'm still freeloading on a parents computer.
I will probably buy a laptop in the near future and get FS9 and put it on the laptop leaving FS2002 for VATSIM.

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

Hi Lawrie,
Yip I downloaded and followed all the instructions and it's great in FS9,which is what you did it for. I decided to experiment and also tried it in FSX.I just copied the folders from FS9 into FSX.It didn't look too bad either, the basic buildings were mostly in the right place with very few exceptions and the static trucks, cars and buses seemed to be in place except for one which was parked at right angles to the road,I think it was being used to stop boy racers laugh.gif
I can post some pics if you are interested for comparison just so long as others realize that it was not meant for FSX.Thanks for a great piece of scenery Lawrie it has complimented my FS9 thumbup1.gif clapping.gif clapping.gif

Got the pics thanks Neil.
Must be FSX that turns some objects around. Aside from the 2 buses being turned 90 degrees sideways, i notice it has placed the Airport Motor Inn 90 degrees sideways as well !! I have no idea why FSX changes the placement of these items ?? sad.gif blink.gif

Hi Neil.
Its just dawned on me.................... the 3 objects that are turned 90 degrees sideways in FSX are default FS9 objects.
Obviously the same objects are in the default FSX libraries, (otherwise they wouldnt show), but FSX must place them differently than in FS9. Someone like Robin could explain that better maybe.
Also, if you want to continue to use the scenery in FSX, perhaps you could persuade someone that has FSX and my NZHN scenery, to make an "exclude" file for the remainder of the default FSX objects that show in the scenery. ???

Those models mite have been made in max at different directions to the one in fs9 ,thus them being different directions,i explian alitt more if i build a model and dont rotate it before i save it as a model it will stay that direction when i got to place it ,if i rotated it the other way maybe 45 degess it would be 45 at 45 when it was ready to be placed and id have to turn it to normal 0 or 360 degress ,this mite be why but only a guess at what has happened

Well Lawrie,at least we know that some of the runway 12 objects will appear in FSX,I'm just trying to figure out how to make the control tower show up in fsx,not that I'm too worried about it.The scenery works in FS9 and that was what it was intended for.Ah well,no tower to buzz,I'll just pick on the motel laugh.gif

I dont care about the motel, just dont break beautiful old granny on it while youre buzzing it !!
Waste of a REAL aeroplane !! laugh.gif
The tower is an FS9 default object. I guess its not in the FSX default libraries, so doesnt show up.

Hi Lawrie,

Am having a problem with getting the terminal carpark, Motel carpark, tank farm road and far hangers apron and roads showing up. Everything else on the runway side of the terminal is as it should be. I'm running 75m freeware Mesh (but have tried it with the 40m and 20m) and the problem persists (and, yep, I've altered the Max_TL from 19 thru 20 and 21). Furthermore, with the altered TL level (20 or 21), the tank farm and motel are now on a hillock, not the flat as per your included screenshots. Furthermore, the terminal carpark is enclosed by grassy mounds on three sides. The AFCAD shows the network of carparks/roads and aprons, it's just that they don't show.

It's very weird having an assortment of cars, buses and service vehicles sitting in a grassy terminal or Motel carpark with no asphalt beneath.
Regards,
Dorian

Hey,................. First problem with a scenery that ive done....................
Hopefully you have NOT moved the AFCAD from Hamiltons "Scenery" folder ??
If you have not moved it then go and have a look in FS9 / Addon Scenery /Scenery folder and make sure there is NOT another AFCAD for NZHN in there. Also have a look in FS9 / Scenery / World / Scenery and make sure there is NOT an NZHN AFCAD in there as well.
Sounds like an AFCAD conflict to me. Ive got 20 m mesh and no probs, and one of the testers listed in the Install Instructions has the 75m mesh and no probs. One of my sons is also usung it in 75 m mesh with no probs.
Have you had another NZHN scenery installed at some time ??
Let me know how you get on.........................
