New CAA Website

I don't if its been up for ages and I've only just noticed, but..... the CAA has a new website - right where they always are. Hopefully will make it a bit easier to find specific info on there.

Somewhere, sometime, I found a useful resource which gave basic aerodrome information such as runway length, surfacing etc.
Still can't find it on the CAA site.
Anyone know where to look?

I think what you are looking for is the AIP New Zealand website... it has all the aerodrome info...

Use the 'Aerodrome Charts' dropdown box and find the aerodrome you want the info on.

For the smaller aerodrome's it is all contained in one multipage PDF file... for the larger ones like NZAA, NZCH etc. you want to lookup the 'Aerodrome' and/or 'Operational Data' listing for the aerodrome you are interested in.

The 'Aerodrome' pages have a 'map' of the aerodrome, the 'Operational Data' has the runway lengths, lighting, fuel facilities etc.

This site is effectively the entire contents of the AIP Volumes 1 to 4. So if you were cheap and had loads of spare time (and A5 paper) you could print out your own AIP's!

You would... all the updates etc. are posted on the site... in the AIP Amendments section... also, if you check the GEN section 0.4 it shows which sections were updated in the last cycle.

Speaking of, I have not as yet received my August 2 amendments... better chase that up..

Yes... Telecom is a prime example... it just depends on your definition of efficient. They took a SOE that was haemorrhaging money, and turned it into a private enterprise that makes something silly like $1 Billion a year... Seems like they're doing something right to me...

Of course as an actual 'customer' of Telecom, well I have less nice things to say about them!

At present, none of those conditions exist (although I see on the news this morning IHUG and Orcon had shiny red and purple boxes that they were putting into an exchange)... so there is no incentive to do it...
