Steve Jenks is the Paint Man
The guy is prolific: In the last year he has painted more NZ aircraft for FS than many have in a lifetime.
I've lost count but it's over 100 paints.
And you can pick any one of them, and take a hard look.
They are pretty much flawless, with great attention to detail and accuracy.
He is a NZ flightsim icon.

Didn't see the movie - does it have anything to do with the RNZAF?

So does this mean it will be ready for download by 11:59pm tonight hahahaha

No, the Air Force bases are not sorted, so there's no point.
But they are out there, getting ready (Did I mention this is a Top Secret Project?)

These are there:

The one in the foreground is the KBT flyable.
The AI is Mike Stone's model, makes a creditable AI plane I reckon.
We're blessed with all sorts of RNZAF flyables, here's the Captain SIm C130 with HTAI models version in the background, plus a couple of M Stone AI Orions:

Those skins are looking quite nice, let me guess block 30s? BTW are you modelling the drogue chute I don't think Kiwi Vipers would need them if they bought em.(better off with an ECM suite anyway)

very good work, can't wait to have some fighters buzzing round, i miss the rnzaf of old
In the ongoing battle between objects made of aluminum going hundreds of miles per hour and the ground going zero miles per hour, the ground has yet to lose.

Yeah they should be Block 15 I know but we are just soo lucky to have the HTAI model at all.
If you've ever had the pleasure of flying along with one of 'em you'll know what I mean - especially watching them land: gear down, flaps, split airbrakes (!) correct pitch attitude on touchdown...
And Ohakea 15/33 ain't the longest runway in town - I suspect a chute might not be a luxury on occasion.

Hey thanks Ian I have some way to go.
I'll let you into this secret, because there is NO WAY I can sit on this forever.
When Steve Jenks was painting the F-16's he asked me if I'd like to have my name stencilled discreetly on the canopy frame of one of 'em, and what rank would I like?
I've always liked the sound of "Squadron Leader" and so it appeared (on the other side of this picture unfortunately) on '41:

But here's the sting:
Jenks being an Air Force brat, put his own name on the hotshot single-seater No. 1 ship, and promoted himself Wing Commander!

Ah what the hell, we'll just fly the skies. Up there, you rank with the birds.

Man those skins look sweet from that shot, so does FSX support custom skin updates. eg if you fly online with that 3d model and skin will it automatically load that skin into other peoples PCs? We got the opposite problem in Falcon, in F4 every skin/3d model is loaded into the sim when it fires up so we can't have 1000s of skins much as I'd like to. IMO Pacific Fighters is the only sim so far I've seen with this ability.

No MSFS (9&X) reverts to a Cessna or something if the exact plane doen't exist on your hard drive.
I think it's probably a more conservative route, given you could be faced with 10,000,000 online flyers, each in their favourite personalised plate Star Wars junkheap.

To be honest, it's sorta stuck.
The action is focussed around Ohakea, but that alone is not enough to qualify the package as "RNZAF".
Also:
- The CT-4's are frame hogs, so many people would not be able to run them.
- Deane B gave up on revamping Whenuapai because it doesn't work over RealNZ.
So we're left with essentially an airshow around NZOH, and the transports lumbering around places far and near.
I don't know if this is in any way interesting.

Perhaps all you guys who have beta copies could wrap up now, with some comments and criticisms?

Release what you have already- people can custom tailor (remove the bits the don't want) to suit themselves.

I love seeing the occasional CT-4 touching down at Woodbourne just after I have arrived- adds a little more atmosphere to the place.

Having had the privilege to Beta test this (in my opinion an essential AI add-on to Fsim) I thought it was fine, the only let down was the air bases them selves (NZWP) after fluffing around with this, and removing the F16 (with the smoke trails) this filled a nice gap in the skies over NZ.

It was cool to see C-130's doing TNG at NZWP and other military aircraft doing their thing around NZ, I even managed to add some RNZAF Skyhawks doing TNG at NZOH

Charl, I believe is a bit of a perfectionist in my opinion (I say this with out actually knowing the gentleman) but by his efforts with GNZLAP I can see why this RNZAF my end up in limbo which is a shame as it does what it's supposed to do and that's to add to the skies of NZ.

I say release this cool project as is, hopefully members of this forum can take up the challenge and add to it if they feel the need and those who have problems with frame rates can drop the CT-4's or cut back on them!

Just my 2cents worth.....
