Looks more like a Tecnam than a Cessna to me... <_< Also, where on earth did they come up with the name "SkyCatcher"?

Ugh... its like they've taken all the worst features of light aircraft and put them together...

'castoring nosewheel'... yuck... so you have to steer with the brakes right?

centralised 'stick control'... blurgh... must be really uncomfortable having to work a central stick... especially for someone like me with broad shoulders :(

Nevermind the name... what about the colour??!? omg... that has to be the worst colour scheme I have ever had the misfortune of looking at.... thankfully that is easily fixed! <_<

Gimme a 152 any day! :ph43r:

Love that panel! Would be worth having the 162 for the panel alone >buck<

I wouldn't really want one of those Garmin G300 avionics thingies, they confuse me to no end on flightsim once you get past the most basic of instruments.

After having done a CPL in a G1000, I'd say the glass cockpit is nice, but doesnt beat hamster and steam driven gauges in most GA aircraft. Wouldnt mind going IFR in a baron with the G1000, would be nice and easy.....

Cessna have released the specs in a PDF here. Another nice touch is the sticks, and mechanical flaps. Well done Cessna!

I really dont trust glass cockpits on light aircraft. I prefer the ole steam driven gauges!

Thats got to be the ugliest piece of dog @@@@ I have ever seen and don't care much for the paint scheme either looks like that cessna has fallen from the top of the ugly tree and hit every branch on its way down.

Im sorry but I was actually starting to get used to planks but if anything else like that comes out I will be sticking strictly to rotary.

That's suprisingly fast for only a 100hp engine ohmy.gif

Hmm, don't like the panel much. But say what you like, in a few years there'll be thousands of the buggers, and we'll think nothing of it.

By LSA (Light Sport Aircraft), they mean micro/ultra light don't they? Like the Tecnam?

EDIT: it would appear so... although they are not micro/ultra lights... but you only need a sport pilot certificate to fly them... interesting that the Piper Cub falls into this category!

It would seem that the Ciruss has a BRS system and Rotax up front (not sure whether it has a glass cockpit but dosen't look like it) whilst the Cessna has an ordinary Continental. I'll have the Ciruss thanks even if it based on another a/c and has steam gauges.

Well looks like there will be 1000's all over the place in a couple of years time - 400 were ordered in the two days after it was unveiled at Oshkosh.
.... and the Cirrus looks like it does have a glass cockpit - now to rob a bank (or sell the house) to buy one of these critters - the Cirrus - not the Cessna.
