Weather is absolutley crazy at the moment. A State of Emergency has just been declared in Northland as flood waters rise and even more is expected! :o

->Whenuapai AFB is running on Auxilary Power. They also have a 50knot wind.

->Auckland Intl. has this Special Aerodrome Report currently active:
SPAR NZAA 100543Z
090/30G40 XW MEAN15 MAX20 TURB REP FNA AND DEP. VIS 20KM RED 7KM RA=

->All Air NZ flights have been cancelled up north.

->The Harbour bridge is on the brink of being closed due to high winds.

->Rail lines in Auckland are blocked from tree branches.

->All ferries in Auckland have also been cancelled.

Im sure this list is gonna get longer as the night goes on

And in Christchurch:

Low gray cloud and drizel.

Hey at least its interesting up there!

Must say the "2 wheel traffic has been prohibited on the bridge" I found to be quite funny.

Our basketball hoop got blown out our driveway and down the street- and it has a massive base filled with about 30L of water to hold it down  Also, saw a few trees blown down while driving around today- exciting stuff (for us jafa's anyway)!

Not too much havoc being caused down these ways we are still flying but if it keeps up we will be grounded for crikey knows how long 1 job today so thats alright although the winds were gusting around 30-45 Knots.
