Wellington Flight Experience Day

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Who here went to the Wellington Flight Experience Day? So jealous, I'm stuck in an office for the whole day! :sleepy: How was it?

Went on it today, it was awesome. My trial flight lasted 55 mins because of traffic and poor weather  . Did about 3 touch n gos and 1 full stop. Went up the ATC tower, that was the coolest-such an awesome job.

However I still disregard aviation as a career and theres no way I'd train until I have a bit of money and qualifications first. B-)

Overall a good day ;)

There are still spaces left next week if you're interested :)

definitely fun.

Got to go inside a Ex-Origin Pacific J41 And got to sit on the right and left seat (woo ho I'm tall enough to see over the instruments. I now know I won't be too short to be a pilot) Also in ZK-VAD (402) all great aircraft. Really fun day. Will be doing it next year!

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

1100 I was doing the apron sweeping. Towing a mat around behind the vehicle to pick up the FOD.

Thats pretty cool, I wish we had an aero club at Auckland International so we could do the same there! Closet I have ever been to an experience day was the ANZ careers exbo where I got a ride in the 777 sim.

I remember doing that with Roger ;) First year I did it was when the Ansett Banderanties were parked in the Air National hanger and I was the lucky bugger to sit in the pilots seat. Thats a few years back now B-)

Well looks like I might try and go next week.
I just realised something frightening..
On this page Here, it sows the full list of training etc you need to do.
I'm up to No.6 on this list, and I'm nervous. Look what's in store for lesson number 7..

How many people were there? And also did Roger let you guys do the radio while flying? or am i just special :P

Lol good luck with that VAC! I know someone who's into gliding.... he was s**ting himself on his first solo, but it turned out all good if not for a very wobbly landing! :o  :o
