Go Alinghi!!! Anyway, even if Team NZ wins, the next cup will be in Dubai!!! Not that it would ever happen :D Full confidence in Alinghi's ability to keep the cup!!! Although I've got my money on Alinghi, I've gotta admit that the racing is seriously close! It will be 3-2 by the morning to someone!!! No doubt Alinghi. Go Alinghi!!!!!!!!

Yes it is. Maybe he thinks the protest by ETNZ will succeed and we'll get given a free win?

Would a few training runs justify the cost of getting the boats to Dubai and back I wonder... :ph43r:

Big Bummer dudes ,why oh why ,are the sails made in NZ? wind pressure they say.well there is suppose to be wind in the sails ,whoever made the sails is in big trouble in my books ,i wouldnt  buy  them  from them at all ,yeha they mite of held out this long in the races but its not acceptable to have this kind of failure at this late stage
NZ is on a come back from here on in ,so if the bits and pieces fail  its  no good for the nzers in that market of making them

amended post ofcoure im wrong go team nz >nzflag<

So I take it you know - somehow - that the sail failed through faulty manufacture and not from a cut or wear suffered whilst in use ???

Get a grip.................

Well last time the All Blacks and Team NZ played on the same day, The All Blacks won and Team NZ lost. Given the AB's loss tonight, hopefully Team NZ can balance the scoresheet.

If the America's Cup is lost, and let's face it the odds are 3-1 in favour, then the deciding moment was not when that spinnaker exploded on the Kiwi boat.
The game was lost when Emirates Team New Zealand was breathing foul air all over Alinghi, within sight of the finish in race 6.
They had 'em dead in the water, and would've rolled over the top.
But then...they gybed and meandered off into the middle distance, clearing the air and handing the race to the Defenders on a plate.
Bad day for New Zealand.
