Depends how you define big but the Short Stirling was bigger in terms of height and length. The wingspan might have been slightly shorter, this is why it was never a sucess

I'm gonna have to say the Cessna 310, I can't get used to that nose gear.

The Shorts Skyvan ranks up there as well.

Think of that deep-sea fishing trip...
once you hauled in the big one, you'd have it home and filleted in time for dinner :D

Breguet 763 Deux Ponts gets my vote, must be a French thing about big fat tubes as a fuselage

there are alot of ugly aircraft, i personally think the french should have kept their early bomber designs on the toilet paper they were prolly sketched on !(i do love their dassault aircraft thou),...but you can find a veritable smorgasborg of fugly planes here .. http://www.fortunecity.com/tattooine/fa ... index.html

My ugly plane of the week would be the dash 8 Q400,....i love the Q100, and 200,(300 is bearable),..but that 400...waaaay to long and kind of looks like the stalk bird,..maybe it would look more suitable with a baby elephant hanging from its belly !.

Interesting site - haha  they contributed the Waitomo Airtruck to the Aussies and not NZ (as opposed to Transavia Airtruck which was Aussie made).

But the French made the most stunning aircraft - the Concorde (partly French anyway).

I actually quite like the Q400 - I have just read that they planning an even longer one (a stretch too far?).

..i said "early french bombers"(which are the fundamentals that the word UGLY were built on !!....and i agree, the Concorde is(was) a thing of beauty,...and what a step backwards to the aviation world and to the world in general now that she is forever doomed to an aircraft museum !. as far as stretching the dash 8 Q400 even longer....insane !...but i guess if they havent yet maximised the dash 8's capacity what else can they do...!.,..it is a great aircraft :D
