thanks guys i agree its now going to be worth the trip heading over those ways on the way to wellington or just the trip alone ,ive now put it in the sim to have a look but im not to happy with the roof textures id rather them blue like the real one and the upstairs needs different photos maybe ,fsds is alot harder to model in and id rather use max but i just have had no luck with textures into fs from those models ive made before this one ,
anyway heres some more shots and one of the top down view of robins older godzone photoreal

Mate... if you have photos of the roof so I know what the proper colour is... and the tin textures that are the wrong colour... I can make them blue for you :)

Just need to do some fiddling with the GIMP... :ph43r:

Looking really grand Mike. Hopefully when its all finished, it will fit in with all the other modifications and scenic addons i have done to Goffs original scenery.
Added the palms and trees etc around the carparks and tank farm, modified the carparks themselves, re-done the airport entry roads, including joining them to the NZ Topo main road and added street lighting, added the pines along the side of the main road, and started adding the houses beside the water accross the road from the airport, just to name a few.

i dont how much it will fit in with what you have and has been done before ,i generally make a whole airport these days with as much as i can do and leave it up to others to do as they wish with the ez scenery objects ,napier airport was something i wanted to do anyway, thus the speed in which im building it .
my thought is that insteed of all others work going to waste ill inclued all my source files and yous will be able to place them as you wish within any napier .
the only reason i do this now is that the older ez scenery & rwy12 objects that most people place are frame heavy with some older texture formats and it means that people have to download library files from here and there ..etc
this way i know ive got all the files in one place and that there will be no texture double ups and conflicks with each install if that makes sence .
anyway most important you will be able to place the objects yourself aswell ,starting tower and hangers tonight ..

Sounds sweet to me Mike. I might hold off on any further work on what im doing untill yours is complete, and then see if i can combine my additions with yours without too much drama. Ive gone a little further afield than just the airport itself. BTW, really nice job on the Raglan scenery. I like !!

I like your thought process very much.
There's an edge to your scenery now, too.
Good show.

Absolutely fan-bloody-tastic, Mike. Your rendition of the Napier terminal looks so real. I am humbled.

My feeble attempt at Napier Port might be useful for anyone wanting a starting-point.

It's HERE for a limited time.

Cheers,

Goff

No Mike, i am using Runway-12. I used to have EZ-Scenery, but went to re-install it after a fresh install of FS9 a while back, to find the disc was damaged. So no EZ !! :(
Looking very good on what youve done, going by the pics. I will just have to hope i can fit it all in somehow to all the scenery extras and bits i have added so far. I used Goff's original scenery, and AFCAD as a base, and worked in all my extras around his stuff. So i dunno how i will get on placement wise with your very nice new buildings :( If Craig did a new AFCAD for the scenery, i guess your buildings might not be in the same places in my scenery thats based around a modified version of Goffs original AFCAD. Oh well, at worst, i guess i can start from scratch again ! Let me know where and when you have it uploaded.

Thanks Mike. I do miss EZ, but i have always used both EZ and Rwy-12. I guess i will just have to shell out the $$ and buy it agian.
Yes, Goff does have EZ Scenery, thats what he made his original scenery with.
If you can manage it, placing your buildings within Goff's AFCAD would be a great help. The airside shape of my modified AFCAD is pretty much the same, with a few minor differences, but its the carpark side that i have done the most work on.
If you can just fit your buildings into his original, i can make a few small tweaks to paths, roads, carparks etc, to make them fit your buildings better. Might have to move a few other objects like trees and lamp posts, but thats no big hassle.
Other alternative is, you PM me with an e-mail addy, and i will send you the "beta" of the modified AFCAD. Whichever is easier for you, either way is fine with me.
Have to try and convince the wife to let me spend the money on buying EZ again,.... not an easy task ! Ive rebuilt the AFCAD to suit Red Baron 20m mesh and NZ Topo Scenery. Have joined the carpark road to the NZ Topo main coast road, and added lots of other details. Also started adding the houses beside the water, across the road from the airport, and added the landmark pine trees all along the side of the coast road. Whatever you remove of his to replace with yours, can you leave the aeroclub clubhouse building of his (unless you have a better one), and also the tank farm behind the carpark (unless you have a better one).
