FSX and AFCADs

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby ooOO00OOoo » Sat May 26, 2007 1:59 pm

On almost all the fs9 addon airports i download there is something wrong with the AFCAD. You can see the middle and edge lines on the taxiways, but most is cut off. I downloaded a grand case airport and the problem above is there and the runway is sunken. I have tried the AFCAD in numeous places e.g. addon scenery/scenery.......addon scenery/grandcase/scenery........addon scenery/grandcase/AFCAD......nothing changes it. Any help is appreciated

Perhaps you have a double up of the same AFCAD file that are conflicting with each other?

Or, try switiching the 'TERRAIN_VERTEX_LEVEL=' line in your fs9.cfg between 19 and 21 to see if it makes any differance.

I've seen that too - Robin's Real Welly is a positive obstacle course, dodging the signs in the middle of the taxiway. Plus I get a shimmering bleed through of the runway textures too.

Maybe the Afcad files need to be "FSXed" in some way?

I think he is using FSX

there is a problem with FS9 AFCAD's in FSX

there is a thing on Avsim to convert them, it works on 70% of them

The patch should remove the taxiway signs -- if it doesn't, it may need to be reinstalled. Let me know if you continue to have any trouble.
