Wilco A320

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Postby Jimmy » Wed May 23, 2007 11:51 am

I'm going to buy it, yes, an airbus, let me make a sad attempt to justify buying a airbus :P ..

A32s fly the transtasmn routes so much, and many routes threw out europe, and in my ever growing effort to learn about aviation I want to see how an airbus operates. Such as this FMGC and stuff. There are many flights I want to fly but are in A320s, so I may as well get the most realistic and have fun :D

So I'm just woundering if any one here has had some experiance with this package? Should I get the delux, or the standard? What its like on performace and how realistic is it?

The Wilco feelthere Airbus package has taken my interest since it was announced, the A320 is so popular across my favorite routes so a good A320 is quite important and im sure I will use it alot.

I would like to buy the boxed version, whats the best retalier to buy it from? pcaviator looks like my best choice but I have never liked their service, but they are friendly when I finaly get a reply to my emails so they aren't that bad, just a bit slow with postage over to here.

I would be interested in any comments sugestions or anything.

Thanks
James

I fly their 733 and it is a pretty good machine to learn about flying airliners. The FMC can be frustrating at times but once you learn how to use it, its a great tool. I havnt found the vc to be too bad at all but generally speaking, I dont fly using it, more of a 2d panel man myself. Just a word of warning, make sure you read the manuals, otherwise you will end up very frustrated and never wanting to touch it agian!! Also, buy it direct from their website.

Ok I have there Legacy, 737's, 777, and the A32X and it is good for an Abus (it got allot better after the SP)

If you like airbus you want ot learn about the working of an Airbus (i.e. how to fly it) This is probably the best out there (for FS9 or FSX)

Definately go for Naki's linked Airbus over the Wilco - or wait for PMDG. ;)

I have the 733, and have never had any trouble with the fmc, easy to use, is the autopilot that will turn you into a flying fireball if you press the wrong button :ph43r:

Not sure on price but suppose to be released this autumn but probably more like this winter (their summer)- Dreamfleet (one of the partners along with the guys that make the Portland airport scenery) take their time but their stuff is top notch and worth the wait.

You can almost guarantee the airliner XP model will blow your socks off while still letting your frame rates roam free.

I like the idea of lots of airbus' with airsimmer, things to come and now AXP. it makes a change from all the Boeings.

I don't think the Wilco is really worth it, the review i read on flugsimulation.de certainly noted the poor performance.

SP 1 for the Wilco A320 solved a lot of issues and helped performance a bit as well. Definitely the best A3X panel out there right now, but like others have said there are a few others on the way that will most likely be even better. Up to you if you can be bothered waiting!

Good on ya for wanting to learn some systems of other aircraft, there is more to the world than Boeing. The Flight 1 ATR, SSTSIM Concorde and some of the Russian aircraft are all high quality products that you will learn a lot from as well. PMDG's MD-11 will be good too.
