NZWN Installation problem

Howdy Robin,

Have a small problem with a re-installation of RealNZ Wellington. It would appear the NullSoft wrapper does not allow any other option than to install the scenery in C: However, as I am currently reinstalling FS9 on a 160Gb Seagate external hard drive I must now reinstall NZWN on my E: drive.

Okay, no real problem manually moving everything across to the E: drive, except I now have one .bgl (gvf994460.bgl) that needs to be placed in World/Ocen/Scenery. So, in order to manually deactivate the default file I need to know the original extension (I suspect it is a FL (flatten) file?). Any assistance would be most appreciated.

TIA.

Sorry, overlooked this.
It looks like you have one of the dud installers, otherwise it would be able to find your sim install. (about 60 discs went out with this problem, unfortunately all to subscribers.)
The file you need to change is:
FL994460.bgl
Simply rename it with a .bak extension to disable it.
However, since using this technique (recompiling the default flatten files to fine-tune airport elevations) I've discovered that there is a problem in that my new flattens tend to round to the nearest metre, which gives the disappearing runway problem at some airports reported by some. It may be better to revert to the default flatten -- at Wellington it leaves a cut in the hill behind the airport, but this may be better than annoying elevation problems at other airports.
In which case, you'd disable my flatten file rather than the default.
If you like, I can send you a replacement CD. Bear in mind that the fixed installer will rely on the Registry value to obtain the sim path, so this needs to be set correctly.

S'right! Know you're in the final stages of scenery development and are extremely busy.

Thanks for the info.

Will stick with the RealNZ Wellington flatten. Don't seem to be experiencing any of the problems others have mentioned. Either because:

a: the GNZLAP AFCADs for this area have been corrected to compensate for the anomoly (the dummy unlinkerd taxiway flatten trick)?;
b: I reserve NZ20m Mesh for flying only in the Southern Alps and use 75m Mesh (and the associated TL=19) everywhere else; or
c: just plain sheer dumb luck I ain't struck the problem yet.

Thank you; a replacement disc would be great (and yes, my FS9 Registry entry does point to the E: drive location). You should have my current address on file.

Once again, many thanks.
