outstanding, finally a hamilton i can know like the back of my hand, first atc contact in hamilton airbp1 to hamilton tower, hamilton tower o ahead, airbp1 request permission to cross active, hamiton tower cleared to cross active. man that runways looks wide from a truck drivers seat!!! :)
In the ongoing battle between objects made of aluminum going hundreds of miles per hour and the ground going zero miles per hour, the ground has yet to lose.

Have downloaded and installed - some of the textures on the buildings on the GA side of the airfield aren't showing - not sure why - more investigating required. Don't really like the static aircraft (although there aren't many). Otherwise it is rather nice, a ton better than default and easy on FPS.

very cool thanks on the heads up on this one and cheers Savern and all on getting it made and realeased
textures not showing mite be that you need nova builder textures from avsim ...
plus some others...

I take that back being easy on FPS - being on a another test flight in something more taxing (Dreamfleet Archer 111) - it is actually a bit tough on FPS if you fly something relatively sophisticated (on my system anyway)

Thanks Mike - I couldn't find anything on the readme about requiring Nova.

On a positive note I noted that my VOZ and GNZLAP AI aircaft seem to be in the right places and quite neat seeing the GA aircraft taking off on the grass strip while the heavier stuff using the sealed runway.

But as I said above way better than the default

My ever-crippled FS9 installation obviously doesn't have the right texture library, as I get an awful lot of plain boxes scattered about.
Notwithstanding this I get 15fps with no AI on a rig that's meant to run FSX with a smile.
I do wish they'd give Savern his doctorate so he could spend more time stitching together some high-grade scenery!

You will need some additional files for this scenery to run correctly

1. Gerrish Gray's Trees version 3 available from http://www.flightsim.com
and http://www.avsim.com

Note: You must set up a separate scenery directory for the trees_0.bgl and a texture directory and copy all the fs2002 textures to it. Then activate the scenery I call it treesv3 and make sure it has a higher priority than your 3rd party sceneries.

2. The Nova textures available from http://www.flightsim.com
and http://www.avsim.com.

Note: You must set up a separate scenery directory for the nova_lib.bgl and a texture directory and copy all the textures to it. Then activate the scenery I call it Nova and make sure it has a higher priority than your 3rd party sceneries.

This is in the Readme form Severn ;)

One problem seem to get which seems to be with a lot of 3rd party Airports and Afcads is they Do not seem to align with the Roads in Christian Stocks Topographical package.
This scenery is no differant, Does anyone know a fix for this problem?

Whats that suppose to mean?

The scenery is good and long awaited I just wondered if there was a way of aligning the scenery to the Topographical scenery? Also pointing out the readme file that cures the blank textures problem.

Sorry I thought was a support forum, my mistake. Will wait a email response from the designers.

I'm not a Scenery Developer by any stretch of the imagination, I use Abacus' EZ-Scenery.

I don't know how the roads in this scenery were put together. But you could try using EZ-Landclass which is available free from here

It may allow you to change the textures from roads to something else. Nothing to loose.
Testers are born to fiddle. What does this button do? Oh! Never mind.....

My apologies, AirWolf; my comments were not directed at you, but rather at the initial announcement.

As for "fixing" the road ways, the only viable way of doing so is to break open the Hamilton.bgl with BGLAnalyze (V3.1) and manually removing all reference to asphalt. Then attempt to recompile using SCASM (but, seeing as how the de-compiled .bgl is over 3Mb, there will, inevitably, be recompile errors).

Dorian

If you were refering to my comments then I am sorry if I offended anyone - I was trying to be give some constructive crictism.

I did say it was a rather nice scenery package overall and I appreciate greatly the time people put into these projects for all of us to enjoy.

I wish I had the time to do some projects like these but unfortunatley I don't and even if I did have the time I am doubtful I could do a job as well as this scenery and many others out there.

From now on I wil keep my mouth (typing fingers) shut and refrain from any comments good or bad.

Don't reckon you should keep your typing fingers shut at all.
Feedback from the user group is essential to improve the breed.
So you have texture issues? Me too.
Airwolf kindly pointed out what you need.
In fact, now I think about it, Nova texture clashes were the bane of my FS experience, back in the days when those things were current.
Worst offenders were libraries full of textures, that some designers then included in their scenery as well.
Poor old computer hunted back and forth eating up framerate as it went.
If you are going to install this scenery, and keep it, you should run a utility to check that you don't have duplicate textures all over the hard drive, otherwise it will be very hard on framerates.
See? This is what forums are for.

Hey Guys,

Ive sent an email to Savern, asking if he could possibly provide a bit of support for this thread. We may see him on here in the next couple of days :)

Cheers,

Thanks Charl - yes I agree if we don't get feedback we don't move forward/improve. I was having a grumpy moment (bad day at work). ;)

I read the readme (I must had a brain fade or something - now that I am over 40 I guess these things happen now  ) but somehow I missed the bit on Nova textures. I will download Nova and go from there and thanks for the advice on the duplicate textures.

Cheers

Hey Naki, I wasn't getting at you either.

The comment was supposed to hint at my dislike of the scenery (blame the resultant confusion upon the weird juxtaposition of postings).
