COFFEE ONBOARD.

Writing this as a bit of a coffee-aholic. I have been tired of poor, brown water that is offen served onboard airlines which they try to pass off as coffee. I just had a flight with SkyEurope.com another of the new budget airlines. Interesting that in just 5 years, that they have grown to a fleet of 14 737s. Must be doing something right........Paid 10.5 Euros for the flight, and had a new 737 700 as well, and good service, landed on time and even got my bag back. The thing that impressed me most was that they had a REAL coffee machine installed. I had a PROPER espresso served in a china cup and saucer, and a glass of water. First time in economy class and a real surprise for a 'budget' carrier. Eat your heart out AirNZ!!!

Smooth landings!!

How long was the flight, there would have been barely enough time to serve coffee!!

The flight was from Amsterdam AMS to Budapest!!! Sadly, the coffee was not included in the price, but was well worth the money. Lots of similar offers from the budget airlines in Europe, last year I flew from Brussels to Stockholm for 3.5 Euros, and recently Ryanair were offering tickets for 10 Euros INCLUDING taxes!!

Great to get good coffee onboard, even if it did cost extra!! 10.50 Euros for the flight was still a bargain, and a new aircraft too.

smooth landings!

Hey happytraveller

Man I would pay anything for a great coffee on Air New Zealand u need about 10 sugars to make the coffee taste any good.. and the coffee It's so strong its like half a jug of coffee with very little water.

 Todd

very interesting to compare flights with AirNZ and SkyEurope, just shows what can be done for a low price. I seem to remember reading something in the 'Press' about AirNZ 'low' fares actually being higher now than before they introduced their no-frills (for this, read budget) service.

Should all coffee-aholics start a campaign for decent coffee??

Black, strong and no sugar for me please (and more RAM for the simulator)

Smooth landings!!

I have the airlines to thank for learning how to drink tea ;)

I distinctly remember the day... I was on a morning Qantas Link flight from YSSY to YPMQ (following a 7am flight from NZAA to YSSY which necessitated being at the airport at 5am which required me to drag my butt outta bed at like 4am!!!) and desperately in need of some stimulants...

so I replied yes when the lovely lady asked if I wanted coffee... she looked a little surprised when she came back down the aisle 2 minutes later offering tea and I asked if I could swap <_<

I now stick to water... or alcohol :ph43r:
